The GMO Blues

Tracy Poem 28th June 2013

With all of the Monsanto protests last week, I wrote a little song. It’s sung to the tune of “There once was a woman who swallowed a fly”…

There Was a Young Man Who Ate GMOs……

There was a young man who ate GMOs

But he didn’t know he ate GMOs

No labels you know.

There was a young man who drank pesticides

He drank pesticides, with his GMOs

But he didn’t know he ate GMOS

No labels you know.

There was a young man who ate herbicides

He ate herbicides while he drank pesticides

He drank pesticides with his GMOs

but he didn’t know – he ate GMOs

No labels you know.

There once was a man took antibiotics

Antibiotics with his CAFO meat

He ate CAFO meat, well, because it was cheap

He ate herbicides while he drank pesticides

He drank pesticides with his GMOs

But he didn’t know – he ate GMOs

No labels you know.

There was a young man on growth hormones

He didn’t eat them – they came in the milk

He took antibiotics with his CAFO meat

He ate CAFO meat, well, because it was cheap

He ate herbicides while he drank pesticides

He drank pesticides with his GMOs

But he didn’t know – he ate GMOs

No labels you know.

Then someone bred a horse with a grain,

Crossing plants with animals, again and again.

There was a young man who ate “grain bred with horse”,

He died of course.
