Wake Up World! It’s time to rise and shine!

The Business of War is the Cause of War

If you objectively and consistently observe the mainstream media and its interpretation of global events, its omissive and deceptive character soon becomes abundantly clear. This could hardly be called incompetence. The coverage, which is popularly called “news”, is in fact nothing but a propaganda mechanism, designed to persistently shape public opinion in favor of war.

Although most prefer to believe government propaganda is a thing of the past, history shows us that it is an inherent part of any wartime society, obscuring facts and motivations in favor of those who initiate — and benefit from — war.

Who benefits from war?

The Hidden Truths of Africa: Neocolonialism and the Modern Age of Slavery

“The darkest thing about Africa has always been our ignorance of it.” George Kimble

Africa: A Forgotten Continent

What does the world really know about Africa? In the West, if you were to turn on the T.V., you would be hard pressed to find any news coverage regarding Africa other than starving children, political chaos, and exotic wild life. Despite being the second largest continent with a population of almost a billion people, Africa is usually relegated down to the bottom of the barrel when it comes to social and geopolitical importance on the international stage. What is perplexing though, is how Africa can be the most resource rich continent on the planet, yet also be the poorest continent on the planet. In reality, Africa should be prospering, and the envy of the rest of the world. Something isn’t adding up and its time people started to figure out why. Do Lunar Cycles Really Influence Us?

7th May 2016

By Christina Lavers

The moon has long been a source of wonder and inspiration to humans. Often associated with the mysterious feminine energy and the dreamy, irrational side of life, it has been held responsible for inspiring visions, revelations, and even madness.

Back in the days before artificial light, humans couldn’t help but be directly affected by, and aware of, the varying stages of its cycles. When the moon was full, people could be more active as the light enabled them to engage in activities like hunting and celebrating, while the dark nights of the New Moon were more suited to quiet, more internally focused, reflective activities. Women especially experienced an intimate connection because our own body cycles closely mirrored those of the moon. Yet, as humanity has distanced itself from nature in general, living in increasingly artificial conditions, the synchronous relationship between humans and lunar cycles has diminshed.

Is Your Heart Being Electromagnetically Distorted by Microwave Radiation?

The Power of the Heart

Your heart produces an electromagnetic field 5000 times as powerful as that produced by your brain.[1] This field projects from your physical body to contribute to the circumvent field or aura. 60–65 % of heart cells are neural cells connected to the central nervous system and brain and concomitant with the amygdala, thalamus, hippocampus and cortex.[2]

One way the heart communicates with the brain and the rest of the body is ‘energetically’. If the electromagnetic energetics of the heart are altered so are the resultant communication signals. In fact, heart transplant recipients often show a different personality post-operation, literally having a ‘change in heart’.

The metaphysical phenomena of chakras has also been scientifically verified. In one test visible light was generated from the heart chakra. [3]

Don’t Ask for Freedom – Live It!

“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” – Albert Camus

That quote pretty much sums it up, at least on one level. What’s fundamentally dystopic is that humanity petitions others for their freedom, as if it’s something to be granted by someone else in a position of authority over them. Not only is that counter-intuitive at a very deep level, but it reinforces the very paradigm from which they are trying to escape.

It’s very much like putting the cart before the horse – and then the horse complains about it and asks those who did it to change the situation. There may be a time to straighten out a misunderstanding and stupid mistake by pointing out the obvious in a particular situation, but ultimately it’s up to the bridled human to have some “horse sense” and just say no to the situation and be its true independent self and not cooperate with being yoked into bondage and just break free from the bridle and reins…and dump the saddle as well.

Emotional Intelligence and Intimacy

6th May 2016

By Bernhard Guenther

Intimacy is often times mistaken for physical closeness: hugging, cuddling, kissing, sex. However, if there is no emotional intimacy, as in emotional relating and a feeling of safety in a relationship, then physical intimacy can only go that far.

For many people, physical intimacy comes easier than emotional intimacy. For others it is the other way around. Often times people avoid emotional intimacy by focusing on physical intimacy, using sex to buffer up their vulnerability. But in order to truly open up to a partner and go deep, we need to feel safe and be able to share emotional intimacy, our fears, mistakes, and pains and receive each other with compassion and empathy.

New Study Finds Fructose Alters Genes in the Brain, Sabotages Learning and Memory

Since childhood, most of us received the memo loud and clear that sugar is bad — usually where our teeth are concerned. As we grew older, other worries came into the forefront, especially during teenage and adult years where body image played an important role in modifying our sweet indulgences. Add a few more years and the threat of diabetes, heart disease, cancer and inflammation became a motivating force to steer clear of the sweet stuff.

Now scientists have added yet another reason: poor brain function — particularly inhibited learning and memory. But it’s a specific type of sugar that wields such devastating effects — one that can be found in almost every form of processed food in the U.S. and beyond. That sugar is fructose.

The Amazing Health Benefits of Dark Chocolate

5th May 2016

By Dr. Joseph Mercola

Of all the treats available, chocolate is one of the most popular foods in the world. The first solid chocolate bar, made from cocoa butter, cocoa powder and sugar, was introduced by the British chocolate company J.S. Fry & Sons in 1847, but the history of chocolate goes back at least 4,000 years.1

Pre-Olmec cultures in Mexico produced chocolate as early as 1900 B.C. Originally, it was consumed as a bitter beverage. The cacao beans were fermented, roasted, and then ground into a paste that was mixed with water and spices like chili peppers and vanilla, sweetened with honey. Throughout its history, chocolate — “the food of the Gods” — has remained a symbol of luxury, wealth, and power. During the 14th century, the Aztecs and Mayans even used cacao beans as currency.

Why “Alternative” Media is the New Mainstream

The revolution will not be brought to you by Xerox… There will be no highlights on the eleven o’clock news… The revolution will not be right back after a message… The revolution will not go better with Coke… Because the revolution will not be televised. ~ Gil Scott Heron

Let’s face it, the mainstream media, like CNN, Fox News etc. are great at reporting on the surface understandings of surface issues; car accidents and plane crashes, shootings and robberies; as well as reinforcing why our latest foreign war is good/necessary/the only way to peace and security. But if you really want to investigate and comprehend what is actually going on in the world, and why, you have to go past the mainstream.

Just look at the countless global events being reported by the underground news and compare it to the selective, politically-biased fear-fare of the mainstream; there is little journalistic integrity on display in the mainstream media, just the regurgitation of B.S. And lots of it. Even the surface events reported in the mainstream are often filtered, distorted and even blatantly constructed by media corporations that conceal their corporate and political alliances behind the guise of “news”.

The Art of “Holding Space” for Others

4th May 2016

By Humberto Braga

Guest writer for Wake Up World

The world can be a demanding and difficult place, and we all need someone to help us through our dark times by holding space for us to process our emotions. You don’t need to be a therapist or a genius to hold space. Holding space is something we can all do for each other, whether it’s with our partners, our children, our friends, our pets, our neighbors, and even strangers in passing.

We all need it, yet relatively few of us actually know how to do it well, so let’s explore the art of holding space…

Why Education Must Come Back to Nature

3rd May 2016

By Will Stanton

“Unless we are willing to encourage our children to reconnect with and appreciate the natural world, we can’t expect them to help protect and care for it.” – David Suzuki

Humanity has lost its connection with the Earth. As a species, we too easily distance ourselves from the war being waged on the environment. Most of us are opposed to the destruction of the Amazon rainforest and the oil pollution in our oceans, yet we continue to let it all happen. We care, but we don’t care enough to put a stop to all the madness. Why? Because we have lost touch with nature. Sadly, we do not feel the planet’s hurt. Her cries of protest are falling on deaf ears. For the most part, we have become anaesthetised by modern society and the trappings of economic pragmatism.

It’s Time to Pop Your Conspiracy Theory Cherry

3rd May 2016

By Tim Bryant

Guest writer for Wake Up World

Anyone who has spent the time going deep down the “rabbit hole” and researching in the realms of alternative information/conspiracy theory knows that a large majority of the world’s population hasn’t a clue as to what’s really going on in the world. However, all alternative researchers can relate to this because at one point they too were admittedly naïve and asleep to it all. In fact, almost all humans are born into some form of limited perception. There is a reason that the term “awakened” is often used by people in reference to their personal transformation from an in-the-box indoctrinated consumer to an open-minded free-thinker.
