When we narrow it down to all the emotions we can experience, the good news is there are only two choices, which makes our decision-making process simple. There’s love, which is our deepest desire, and then there’s that thing we call fear, which we find intolerable. In the long run, love is really everything, and fear is truly nothing.

It’s as important to know how to become unbound as it is bound, and that old cliché, ‘turn and face the music,’ seems appropriate here because we always choose one experience at the expense of the other.

Until we can pinpoint the underlying cause of all fear, we’re going to struggle with the unrest it causes in our psyche, and diminish the awareness of our own perfect peace and joy, which are our natural inheritance.

Fear and conflict are interchangeable, and certainly nothing we want in our lives. Most of us will find our own fear listed here, or a variation on the same theme. After reading through some examples, we’ll get into ways to release those fears so we can be happy and at peace. Let’s assume for the moment that fear is a decision, which can be overcome by belief, faith, and an inner knowing that everyone would like to achieve.

One thing is for certain, if a person is willing to unify their thought system and release themselves from conflict/fear, then what remains are thoughts that are eternal:  Love, peace, and happiness.

Let’s take a look at some forms of fear in the human experience. Here are some real responses to the question what are you afraid of from real people who are just like us.

God being disappointed in me.

Not living life to the fullest. Not sharing all the Love I carry within my heart.

Growing old, alone, without love in my life.

Not giving all that I have is a strong second to not cherishing my gifts.

What about the fear of success? I’m afraid I will be successful beyond my wildest dreams. That’s pretty scary. What will be demanded of me? Who will leave my life? Who will be genuinely interested in my well-being? Will I want to be bothered with the onslaught of ‘new friends?’

Not being in God’s will.

I’m afraid of myself.

Having friends that aren’t actually friends.

Not going to Heaven.

I’m afraid of not being true to myself.

Others will tell us why there is no fear, or no reason to fear.

Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don’t worry, God never blinks.

Humanity is afraid of connecting to its own power.  Religion teaches that only God should have the power even though Jesus told us: God lives inside you. Translation: Love lives inside of you.

If you had asked me this a year ago, I’d rattle off a list of fears! At this point in my life, I am afraid of nothing. I’m so glad you asked, as this made me realize that I am really and truly afraid of nothing!

God is a forgiving and loving God who understands your heart before you have a thought. He can never be disappointed in you. You are His Love in progressContinue to move closer towards Him. He knows your pace before you take a step.

Fear is not negative, it’s just numbing.

False evidence appearing real. The cure is faith, reliance on that which has kept us breathing and moving this far.

The trick is to find a faith/reliance that works, every day, all the time!

What everyone is literally afraid of is ‘nothing!’ As unbelievable as it sounds – only nothingness can make us fearful – while everything (that’s real) is so incredible – all we can do is love it, since it is love.

If we examine the fearful statements above, it becomes evident that all of them are based on the idea of separation from love. What causes fear? Not knowing (being in the dark), or feeling deprived of something we think we need or want. Fear takes all kinds of forms, which can range from mild anxiety to full-blown rage, to the deepest depression, to thoughts of suicide. Regardless of the form of the fear, it is based on denial of truth and reality. Fearlessness is the release from illusion and the acceptance of what is.

Conflict results in fear because of its inherent lack of stability. It keeps us going back and forth between love and fear, and therefore deprives us of permanent peace. Those who live their lives in fear or conflict are not experiencing peace, because peace of mind is whole – one without an opposite – which leaves no room for fear.

As long as we believe the world is responsible for how we feel, or how we see ourselves, then we will automatically believe we are at the mercy of unseen forces, which results in fear. This dilemma is a total fantasy! No one and nothing in the world has the power to prevent us from making a different decision, or changing our mind.

The very thing we wanted all along is hidden beneath our thoughts of fear. It is constant, reliable, real, and there for us if we want it. Each of us will need to practice forgiveness until we feel the fear dissolve from our thought system, and experience the happiness that comes to take its place. Love is the Answer…
