Lost in Translation

It’s a Mercurial week when the messenger/trickster Mercury aligns with Venus retrograde, shadowy Black Moon Lilith, slippery Neptune and volatile Mars. Expect crossed wires, cross purposes, misunderstandings and new information that could change radically change your view of people and situations. In plutonic Scorpio, Mercury operates under the radar and is in detective mode, excavating hidden patterns, secrets and cover ups. Conjunct Venus retrograde suggests having to go back over old ground and old agreements.

The Sun and Mercury are both aligned with deep space planets so whatever comes to light is direct from the cloud, noosphere or Source — so sit up and take notice. On Thursday 18th October the Sun activates the ongoing light bridge that is Eris/Haumea. These two archetypes are Awakeners — Eris is a disruptor and Haumea brings epochal events. As powerful as Pluto, Haumea motivates action to reorient destructive use of power, resources and behaviour into a nurturing force that supports and protects. It also suggests extreme weather — Haumea was discovered the day before the 2004 East Asia tsunami and was active during hurricane Katrina in 2005.

On a personal level, the ongoing astrology is somatic, physical and hugely challenging, so it’s important to stay on your witness perch in neutrality and prioritise your physical wellbeing by grounding and hydrating yourself. As the 3D dramas and soap operas play out around you, refuse to be drawn in and instead invest in your own renewal — for clarity, protection, rooting and direction.

The Chandra Symbol for Mercury conjunct Venus:

“A small cave located high in the hills and filled with goat dung.”

Tumultuous changes. Hanging on to previous identities, ego fragments, and the shrapnel of personal illusion. You are plunged into a karmic process that exposes what is real and what is not, yet harbour such intense old places inside that it takes a massive overhaul to get anywhere. Forcing yourself up against a brutally harsh karmic path of exceedingly rough process.

But this is what it takes when you have built up in reserve so much retrogressive stuff that you must be enveloped by it in order to uncover a way to be yourself again, without all these barnacles and burdens. A fierce shadow world. Under duress, personal and collective. Tremendously powerful, treacherous and rewarding. Not for the fainthearted.”

Aries Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

Sometimes in the thick of things, focused on action, it’s easy for you to forget that the greatest skill and most valuable asset is being able to create rapport with everyone you come across. Think about it. All relationships -personal or professional-are transactions and the world is built on transactions and exchange. If you have real empathy, can relate to others and create win/win situations, people will support you and be willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Keep this in mind this week when it would be all too easy to burn bridges behind you that you can never rebuild.

Shifting from “I’m okay/You’re not okay” to “I’m okay/You’re okay”

Taurus Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

If you’re feeling emotionally unstable, as if the ground is shifting under your feet and there is nothing to hold on to, that’s your ruler Venus travelling slowly backwards through your relationship zone, excavating your defences so that your prejudices, limiting patterns and blindsides are right in front of your eyes. On Monday October 15th Mercury merges with Venus revealing the gap between how others see and experience you and your own self- perception. Frame this as a test run for 2019 when awakener Uranus in your own sign will radically shake up your sense of who you are. For the moment, start by allowing yourself to be more vulnerable and open to taking feedback on board without labelling it criticism.

Think with your heart.

Gemini Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

Although it may not feel like it, for you as a solar Gemini this is liberating astrology. Paradoxically, despite being a sign ruled by arch communicator Mercury, you tend to be over cautious in speaking your mind, not wanting to offend or upset people by speaking your truth directly. Now, with Mercury conjunct Venus in Scorpio, it’s past time to re-frame your thinking. Instead of seeing it as being controversial, see it as making a valuable contribution. You have so much added value just by being you and thinking about things in your own unique way. If that sounds assertive, it’s called being yourself in a world of fake news and pretense.

Shining a light.

Cancer Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

The Sun in Libra on the light bridge in your 4th House is all about putting down deep roots, developing a real sense of belonging and creating a place or space that is yours alone. In this climate of constant change, upheaval and harsh realities, your Cancerian dharma is to “build a lighted house and therein dwell”. It’s not about retreating or hiding under the covers but about building some ground under your feet to support you in the world. About finding what gives you security when old forms are changing and vanishing. Nourishment in all its senses-physical, emotional, soulful- feeds you and feeds those you care for. Daring to be open and vulnerable frees you from stuffing your feelings.

Your gifts of “home” building will be in demand in 2019/20 so start now.

Leo Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

October’s potent astrology is an opportunity to re-balance after August’s disorienting wild card eclipse in your sign. It doesn’t matter what’s going on around you or what you hear about in what passes for news, let the dramas and soap operas run without you and make yourself the centre of your own life. As Mercury merges with Venus in the deepest part of your chart, start by eliminating sources of friction. Ask yourself what you’re tolerating, settling for or putting up with then draw a line through it. Re-design your days by doing the next right thing followed by rest, nourishment and down time. It’s a myth that in order to succeed you have to drive or push yourself — you do better when you have peace of mind.

Talk to yourself as kindly and lovingly as you would to a close friend.

Virgo Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

Your sign ruler Mercury (a.k.a. the Messenger or the Guide of Souls) is flying across the ethers this week connecting inner, outer and 5D planets in a web of new information. Your 3rd House of communications is being rewired and upgraded courtesy of Mercury and Venus retrograde. Frame it as just the start of a personal liberation and decide to seize the opportunity to change your usual operating system. Instead of keeping things to yourself ,experiment with being more open and watch as others close to your heart respond in kind. This is a learning curve of expressing what is true for you with the expectation of being met halfway. Of believing that just by being you, you have a valuable contribution to make.

Standing in the centre of your life, not on the side lines.

Libra Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

For you as a solar Libran, this is a season of looking within rather than without; of being self rather than other directed; of learning how to be at cause, rather than at effect. Take your eyes off the old realities burning all around you and focus on creating the space for new ones to emerge. With Mercury conjunct your sign ruler Venus taking a deep dive in Scorpio, start to notice your habitual ways of operating being mirrored by those around you. Who or what pushes your buttons? Are you feeling your thoughts not the situation? What are your limiting beliefs about yourself? about life? about what’s possible for you? Take this as valuable feedback and change your own patterns for something more freeing.

A whole new world.

Scorpio Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

As a Scorpio, you are currently enjoying three supportive and protective planets in your sign- Mercury, Venus and Jupiter. Expansive Jupiter moves on from November 9th but Venus remains for longer than usual until January 9th. This Tuesday October 16th, take a stand for something that is close to your heart. It could be a relationship or a career opportunity but whatever it is, speak up, speak out and speak your truth.  Not in an assertive or demanding way but quietly and persuasively. Don’t push for an answer or outcome immediately — leave space for others to respond in their own time. The next few weeks are all about clarifying what really matters to you and then finding creative ways to attract more of it into your life.

Meaningful choices.

Sagittarius Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

In less than a month your sign ruler expansive Jupiter returns to Sagittarius for the first time since 2006. Think back to 2006-7 to find clues to the personal breakthroughs you made back then. Then think about which areas of your life are ready for up-levelling now. Meanwhile Mercury and Venus in the engine room of your chart are excavating old dreams you left on the wayside. Pay close attention to any memories, signs and symbols that make you feel nostalgic. And in a week when slippery Neptune is creating smoke and mirrors, check and doublecheck emails, messages, texts or social media posts for errors or slip ups.

Trusting your instincts but using your head.

Capricorn Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

Since last December your ruler Saturn has been back in your sign for the first time in 28 years. Often seen as restrictive, dour or repressive, the Lord of Time and Karma symbolises the ripening of your potential. Think about what you’ve built, learned, achieved or created in the last few months and give yourself credit. Then think about how you treat yourself and talk to yourself-are you your harshest critic and slave driver? Just as you would cut others some slack or give them the benefit of the doubt, do the same for yourself. Frame life as a gift, rather than as a race against time or a competition.

Mistakes and detours are all part of life-factor them in.

Aquarius Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

With Mars moving ahead in Aquarius for the first time in months and both Mercury and Venus at the pinnacle of your chart, allow yourself some leeway and cut yourself some slack. There is so much going on out of sight in the deepest recesses of your chart that won’t become obvious until early January 2019 and none of it requires your conscious participation. Unconsciously you are sifting through your early childhood imprinting, your parental rules and your ancestral inheritance to see which if any are helpful, relevant or constructive in your life now as an adult. Whilst this program is running behind the scenes, take back control of your finances by renegotiating contracts that are past their sell by date.

All is well.

Pisces Weekly Forecast: October 14–21, 2018

Hosting your ruler Neptune in your sign can be a mixed blessing. Happily this week both Mercury and Venus in compatible Water sign Scorpio are in harmony with the Illusionist encouraging you to think big, follow your dreams and trust those amazing instincts of yours. Your intuition and sensory acuity will be at their peak so if a close relationship has recently been confusing, use your empathy and rapport to make a deeper connection. Just remember to remove your rose tinted glasses for a reality check before you make a long term commitment. This is your time to break free from outdated family rules and to live life on your own terms. Take it slowly and enjoy every moment of the unaccustomed freedom.

In the flow.
