Data Mining Firms Admit to Legislators That Personal Info is Collected from Social Networks Then Sold

The data mining industry is booming with no signs of slowing down thanks to increasing integration with other systems like facial recognition and an increasing reluctance to comply with any and all requests from users to maintain privacy.

Now a group of the largest data mining companies admitted to a bipartisan body of legislators in the House that they indeed mine social networks like Facebook for personal information which they then sell to third parties for advertising and “other purposes,” according to Hillicon Valley.

As hard as it is to believe, what many might think is the last bastion of total privacy, namely, the human mind, is quickly becoming just as vulnerable as the rest of our lives with the invention of mind-reading helmets and other ways to “hack” the mind.

Now security researchers from the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Oxford and the University of Geneva, have created a custom program to interface with brain-computer interface (BCI) devices and steal personal information from unsuspecting victims.

In another victory for those who would like to see criminals held responsible for their crimes, Sean FitzPatrick, former CEO of Anglo Irish Bank, was arrested and charged with 16 counts related to secret loans provided in an attempt to prop up the stock price.

The activity of 64-year-old FitzPatrick is quite serious indeed since, as the Associated Press points out it was “a conspiracy to hide colossal losses at the bank that brought the nation to the brink of bankruptcy.”

FitzPatrick was charged under Section 60 of the Companies Act after being arrested in Dublin airport over his scheme to give out loans to 16 people who would then buy shares in Anglo Irish Bank.

The individuals involved include Patricia Quinn and her five children along with ten top clients of the bank who are now known as the “Maple 10.”

Uncovered: $20.3 Trillion Hidden in Offshore Banks by Global Elite

25th July 2012

By Madison Ruppert

Editor of End the Lie & Contributing Writer for WuW

According to the most detailed study of the so-called offshore economy to date, conducted by James Henry, former chief economist with the consultancy McKinsey, the world’s richest people have taken advantage of cross-border tax laws in order to put away a shocking $20.31 trillion in offshore banks.

While this likely isn’t all that crazy to those who are familiar with the massive conflicts of interest in the Federal Reserve and the fact that the Federal Reserve works with banks to put Americans on the line for the failures of banks, it might be surprising to those who have no clue how the international financial system works.

The Mind-Reading Helmet: “Big Brother in Your Head”

20th July 2012

By Madison Ruppert

Editor of End the Lie & Contributing writer for Wake Up World

What most people thought to be the last bastion of privacy in today’s world – the mind – are likely going to be quite disturbed to know that a new company, Veritas scientific claims that they are developing technology which “will invade that.”

Remember, earlier this year I reported on a study showing that computers very well might be able to spot liars better than even the most successful human experts, meaning that we can only expect to see this type of technology used in law enforcement on a more regular basis.

It is important to note that we are not talking about your run of the mill “lie detector,” a polygraph. As many people know, it is very easy for some people to beat these tests as former CIA operative and spy for the Soviet Union Aldrich H. Ames explained in saying, “There’s no special magic [in passing lie detector tests] … confidence is what does it. Confidence and a friendly relationship with the examiner … rapport, where you smile and you make him think that you like him.”

This technology, on the other hand, is what Discovery called “a mind-reading helmet” designed to measure the brain activity of subjects via electroencephalogram (EEG) while flashing potentially familiar images across the visor.

Iceland Hires Ex-Cop to Hunt Down Criminal Bankers

17th July 2012

Previously, I wrote for Wake Up World about just how incredible and successful the Icelandic handling of their financial crisis really was. While a lot has gone on since then, one thing that hasn’t changed all too much is the eerie silence from the mainstream media on the subject.

Yet the people of Iceland are not giving up. Clearly, they have a strong drive to see justice had in this case of widespread thievery.

Now the government has hired what Business Insider calls “a white collar crime bounty hunter” in order to investigate and track down some of the individuals who participated in the destruction of the Icelandic banking industry.

New Research: Long Term High-Fructose Corn Syrup Diet Alters Learning and Memory

New research out of the University of California, Los Angeles has found that aside from the health risks already associated with high-fructose corn syrup, long term diets heavy in the sugary substance could actually result in a decline in memory and learning ability.

Thankfully, this study wasn’t purely bad news, as it revealed that this can actually be counteracted by eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

There are many ways to introduce higher levels of these crucial fatty acids into one’s diet, including relatively inexpensive supplements, flaxseed (which is available in ground, milled and/or in oil form) delicious nuts (the most omega-3 rich being walnuts), salmonand many other delicious foods.

The Silent Revolution: Icelandic Anger, Debt Forgiveness and Activist Triumph

25th May 2012

By Madison Ruppert

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

The situation in Iceland is something those of us outside of the volcanic island nation hear about far too little, and when one examines the story of how Iceland triumphed over massive debts, it makes a lot of sense why this is the case.

Earlier this year, the Icelandic Financial Services Association published a report showing that since the end of 2008, Icelandic banks have forgiven the equivalent of 13 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product in loans.

This has directly lifted the crushing burden of debt form the shoulders of over one quarter of the Icelandic population, something which many people around the world – but especially in the United States, Greece, Spain, Italy and other nations struggling with massive debts – would likely appreciate greatly.

Landmark Lawsuit by US Home Owners Implicates Obama and Big Banks in Massive Global Laundering Scheme

5th May 2012

By Madison Ruppert

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

A new lawsuit, which is bordering on the unbelievable, implicates the Obama administration and some of the world’s largest banks in the largest international money laundering case in history.

This global money laundering network was allegedly formed during the Obama administration and helped banks rob U.S. home owners through offshore affiliates in infamous tax havens and money laundering hubs like the Cayman Island, Isle of Man, Luxembourg and Malaysia.

A press release published by Marketwatch (a website owned by the Wall Street Journal) via Marketwire on April 23, 2012, by America’s Spire Law Group, revealed that a mass tort action on behalf of home owners across the United States has been filed in the Supreme Court of New York, County of Kings.

It’s quite sad for me to say that over 3 million businesses in the United States represented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, not to mention 800+ other major corporations (see below list), all have shown their support for the disturbing legislation known as CISPA, or the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act.

This long list includes corporations like Facebook, AT&T, Verizon, Microsoft, IBM, Boeing, Intel, the Financial Services Roundtable, Lockheed Martin, Qualcomm, Northrop Grumman, VeriSign, Symantec, Oracle, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, the Internet Security Alliance, the information Technology Industry Council, the Independent Telephone & Telecommunications Alliance, the Cyber, Space & Intelligence Association, CTIA – the Wireless Association, the Business Roundtable and more (all of which are listed below).

Man Who Lied About WMDs to Justify Iraq War Confesses

10th April 2012

By Madison Ruppert

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

The individual codenamed “Curveball,” who lied about Saddam Hussein having Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs), has now come clean on British television.

Curveball, who is actually Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi, helped fabricate the justification for war which resulted in countless Iraqi deaths, as well as the deaths of coalition soldiers, and the loss of immense sums of money.

Al-Janabi doesn’t seem too torn up about what his lies led to, either, as he actually had the gall to smile while confirming that everything was completely made up.

New York Federal Reserve’s Head of the Markets Group Joins the Bankster Exodus, But Why?

9th April 2012

By Madison Ruppert

Editor of End the Lie

Twice now I have reported on the rash of resignations amongst top figures at financial institutions across the globe for Wake Up World (see here and here).

The number is growing by the day and I still can’t seem to find any solid reason behind why this is going on, as all of the resignations are allegedly unrelated, which is hard to believe when we see such huge numbers in such a small time span.

While I have no problem speculating and putting forth potential answers to these kinds of mysterious questions (while being sure to note that it is nothing more than speculation), I have yet to come up with anything I feel is logically and factually consistent.

I have had many readers, indeed hundreds, email me telling me it is related to the supposed “end of financial tyranny” being written about by David Wilcock, Benjamin Fulford, and others.
