Invoking Awakening- Returning to Utopia
Jan 11th
By Mona Bhattacharya
Guest Writer for Wake Up World
As I go into this year, all I can feel is unexpressed potential. I feel that individually and collectively we have a vast reservoir of untapped talent, love, empathy and power.
There are so many messages out there asking you to awaken – it’s on YouTube videos gone viral, Facebook posts, books and documentaries flagging 2012 as a time for change.
Having gone through an awakening at the age of 15, followed by several “downloads” since, I know it’s not as simple as waking up one morning and saying “Ah! What a lovely day, I think I am going to awaken.” It’s just not that simple… Or is it?
Actually, it can be. There is a very tangible way to consciously come into the realization of who you are: GODs in amnesia.

Chemicals in Fast Food Wrappers Show Up in Human Blood
Jan 10th
Chemicals used to keep grease from leaking through fast food wrappers and microwave popcorn bags are migrating into food, being ingested by people and showing up as contaminants in blood, according to new research at the University of Toronto.
The contaminants are perfluoroalkyls, stable, synthetic chemicals that repel oil, grease, and water. They are used in surface protection products such as carpet and clothing treatments and coating for paper and cardboard packaging.
Earlier research by University of Toronto environmental chemists Scott Mabury and Jessica D’eon, established in 2007 that the wrappers are a source of these chemicals in human blood. Their new study shows that perfluorinated chemicals can migrate from wrappers into food.

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World
As every week passes, the world becomes more like a science fiction film. Some of these developments are nothing short of disturbing, especially for people like me who are concerned with just how this technology will be used.
Yet there is also a bright side to these emerging technologies. Not all of these developments are negative and many could actually improve the lives of many people across the world and perhaps better all of humanity.

A Calcium Supplement Problem: Serious as a Heart Attack
Jan 9th
Osteoporosis is not caused by a lack of limestone, oyster shell or bone meal. Heart attack, however, may be caused by supplementation with these exact same “elemental” forms of calcium, according to two meta-analyses published last year in the British Medical Journal.
Back in July of 2011, the British Medical Journal published the results of a high-powered meta-analysis which looked at whether or not calcium supplementation had any effect on cardiovascular disease risk. Indeed, this groundbreaking report, which was based on the results of five clinical trials conducted in the US, Britain and New Zealand, involving over 8,000 people, showed that taking elemental calcium supplements of 500 mg or more increased the relative risk of heart attack by 27%.

Reflections that Will Shape the Age of Change
Dec 24th
By Eric Blair - Activist Post
There is no doubt that we have entered a time of great change. Everyone can feel it whether they can comprehend it or not. The evidence is everywhere; in politics, the economy, science and technology, in earth changes and in consciousness.
Change in this great arena called life is happening so fast now that it can seem overwhelming. It can feel as if time itself is quickening. It can feel as if we have no control over the outcome of this transition. When, in fact, the opposite is true. Only we can determine the future, but we must actively participate in the change, otherwise the future will be determined for us if we choose not to look in the mirror.
Life is like a mirror. When we smile, it smiles back at us. When we scowl, it scowls back at us. To effectively change the world, “You don’t comb the mirror, you comb your own hair and the mirror changes,” as David Icke so wisely puts it. British Vitamin Supplement Sales Soar as Consumers Tricked into Toxic Trap
Dec 21st
By Anthony Gucciardi
Contributing Writer for Wake Up World
Supplement sales are soaring in Britain as more and more Brits become savvy to the fact that the nutrient-depleted food supply is simply not sufficient when it comes to obtaining and maintaining optimal health. What many of these Brits do not realize, however, is that not all supplements are of equal value to your body.
In fact, many supplements sold in pharmacies and grocery stores around the globe are loaded with synthetic vitamins, which could actually be wreaking havoc on your biological function. These synthetic formulas are sold in chain stores like Sainsbury’s, where vitamin C sales have increased by 200% in 2 years while multivitamin sales doubled. Of these supplements, many are popular brands loaded with not only lab-made vitamins, but toxic fillers as well. Physicians Oppose Mandatory Flu Vaccine for Health Workers
Dec 20th
By - aapsonline.org
(Association of American Physicians and Surgeons)
In a letter to Colorado public health officials, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) opposes a rule requiring workers in health care facilities to have an annual influenza vaccination or lose their jobs. Workers who had a rare religious or medical exemption would be required to wear a mask in patient care areas from November through March.
The religious exemption is too narrowly drawn, AAPS writes, and should be a philosophical exemption, as accepted in many states, to “to avoid inquisitions into matters of faith.” The mask requirement “seems to be nothing more than a punitive retaliation against those who decline the vaccine” and should be dropped, the AAPS letter states, as both immunized and nonimmunized individuals can transmit influenza or other illnesses. How do They Do it? 80 Year Olds With 40-Year Old Muscle Mass
Dec 17th
17th December 2011
By Dr. Mercola - fitness.mercola.com
Increasing physical frailty as you age is commonly accepted as “a fact of life.”
Until recently, most studies showed that after the age of 40, people typically lose eight percent or more of their muscle mass with each passing decade.
But newer research suggests that this is not a foregone conclusion.
One recent study of 40 competitive runners, cyclists, and swimmers, ranging in age from 40 to 81, found no evidence of deterioration — the athletes in their 70s and 80s had almost as much thigh muscle mass as the athletes in their 40s.
