Astrology Update: A Step in the Right Direction

At the end of January, the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Leo called us to take a leap of faith. Having observed the need to balance creativity with structure in order to manifest harmony and beauty, the energy of the last lunar cycle (of which the full moon was the pinnacle) invited us to go beyond the limitations of existing forms and identities, surrender to the unknown, and trust not only in our ability to navigate from the heart, but to trust that our heart-centredness is the place from which our own unique destiny will naturally emerge.

Now as the new lunar cycle unfolds, which began with the New Moon in Aquarius on February 15, a new energy is beginning to flow through us and around us. This is truly a time to embrace a new direction, say goodbye to the old, and allow a new influx of energy to guide us forward.

Let’s look at the energy patterns that are shaping our evolution during this current lunar cycle.

A Step in the Right Direction

An impactful theme that we have all been sharing since December last year is the feeling of duality — the feeling of being caught between two realities that reflect polar opposite directions. Now that this opposing energy has passed with the Solar Eclipse and New Moon in Aquarius on February 15, our transition into new directions is complete, and we are heading on a new energetic path. Our integration of this change will continue to manifest during the first half of this year, and with hindsight, the events of the last three months of 2017 can finally come into context for us.

Mars (representing instinctive action) is now in the sign of Sagittarius (higher consciousness), and is in a developing phase to Venus (evolutionary needs) in Pisces (illumination). This planetary alignment reflects to us a need to action a new direction, and in addition to taking action, to ensure that it comes from the space of our new found values.

During this phasal relationship we may feel insecure as our minds and emotions have not yet processed our our newly forming experiences, and as such, can leave us feeling unsure about what steps to take in our new direction. This is a natural part of this transition, and we personally recommend you use trial and error as your teacher. Everything you need in this phase of your evolution will be brought to you — all you have to do is invest your attention in knowing your path, and walking it (albeit a little blindly, as far as the mind is concerned.) As you make choices that align with your new path, what will be left behind is the limitations of the past and the old patterns that no longer support your soul’s destiny.

With Uranus in Aries making a blind-spot angle to Jupiter in Scorpio, it can may easy to miss the support we are being offered in making new liberating choices. This angle can also create feelings of anxiety of separation, and so we may be met with the psychological feeling of not trusting or knowing in which direction to go. This is not a time in which our path is being clearly revealed to us in the bigger picture, and if we seek this understanding through functions of the mind, we will likely be left confused and wondering. But, in the absence of cognitive understanding of our soul’s path at this time, we are instead invited to become “aware” simply by watching the path unveil itself, and being in the moment of unveiling, without judgement or preconception.

Becoming Aligned

Part of becoming your destiny is understanding your relationship to the whole and how each phase of your life is aligned with a deeper, more transformative process.

Each of us has a unique story to unfold into. Before we are born a desire is set in motion that leads us to the place we are born, to the family, community dynamics, and finally, to the conditioning circumstances we experience. As we grow in life we endure cycles of change and experience, and eventually, as we reflect back on these events and phases, we become aware of a story that unfolds. A story that is uniquely ours, and aligns to our personal vibration.

What is most noticeable about each of these phases is that they start with uncertainty and excitement, and they end with letting go, liberation and change. The formations of eclipses create the same effect for us — with each eclipse, an old chapter begins to close and a new one begins to form.

For the last few weeks, between the Lunar Eclipse on January 31 and the Solar Eclipse on February 15, we have spent quite some time in the middle of chapters, feeling unsure about that we need to do next. Yet on some deep level, we always know that the next chapter will soon arrive. During those times, it is our choice to either get lost in the trauma of not knowing, and become frozen, or embrace the knowing that our next invitation to live our purpose and destiny will soon arrive.

In alignment with the vibration of Jupiter’s square alignment to the Moon, Sun and Mercury, allow the past to hold space as the wisdom of life lived, and embrace the uncertainty of newness as the fertility that allows your life to grow your dreams into reality.

Moving Towards Clarity

As we move past the intense energy shift initiated by the Lunar Eclipse in Leo (January 31) and the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius (February 15), we are invited to begin trusting in the unfolding process and new direction that these eclipses have shifted us into.

Moving forward for the next two weeks, the Sun and Mercury will travel together in Pisces while Mars, the leading edge of our evolution, will continue to form tension aspects (squares) to the Sun and Mercury. What will result for us is a sense of trust in our new direction, although it may still feel uncomfortable since this energy is new and developing. Mars, which symbolizes our instinctive action, invites us to trust our intuitive choices while the sign of Sagittarius reflects our journey toward higher consciousness and awareness.

Then, as we enter the beginning of March 2018, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus in Pisces will begin to form harmonious trine alignments to Jupiter in Scorpio. The combination of these alignments will support us by engendering a sense of trust that each choice we make is an opportunity that will bring us closer to clarity, and provide us with the sense of faith that all is in divine order. As these alignments begin to take form, the energies between now and the next Full Moon in Virgo on the March 2nd will deepen this sense of trust and open us up to profound layers of healing. Specifically, this healing will come from the knowing that each of us has a story that is unfolding, and that the path that we are walking provides a special destiny for us to evolve through.

During this time it will help to remember that our new direction is fresh to us, so allowing the process to unfold without resistance is key to navigating it smoothly. If we allow feelings of being lost and confused to overwhelm us, and don’t stay grounded in our awareness of the bigger picture, it can result in us making choices that lead to chaos and disharmony. This is a time to feel — not think — our way through.

The Moon’s Message

You do not need to figure out the way. You do not need to worry about how the future will unfold and what you need to do to be aligned with your path. You are not separate from your destiny… you are it! Your purpose is not to be found outside of you, you are always becoming what you are, as your life unfolds your story and experience is your destiny. Your truth is your path.

When we feel anxious or unsure about the future, or about the next step, it is only because we are in a point in time before clarity and direction has become clear to us. But if we recognise ourselves to be in that moment before clarity, we are able to relax and watch as that clarity arrives and the next step reveals itself to us. We are invited to trust the process, to relax our minds and surrender to the process. The moment before clarity of direction is a natural part of the cycle of becoming, and as we exist in time, we must live through that part of the cycle in order to reach the next. And then we will see, it will arrive just as naturally as the springtime naturally follows winter.

In that moment before clarity, resist the temptation to hang onto the known or to make hasty decisions for the future that is still unfolding before us. It is not easy for the mind to accept the unknown, since it likes the security and stability of knowing what is to come. But in times of natural upheaval and change, we can only find security within ourselves. We find it in the our trust in ourselves and our hearts to guide us, as well as our trust in the process and the natural arrangement that connects us all in this web of life. Everything and everyone is in its place, and all is unfolding perfectly in synchronicity with the totality.

We feel the most apprehensive right before clarity and definition is revealed because we can feel the movement and change stirring within us. We can feel the currents of change as they begin to work around us. Change is here! The seeds of springtime are waiting to break through the winter soil and then you will be able to see what it is that has been brewing beneath the surface in the darkness of winter. If you can resist the impulse to ease the uncertainty by making mental decisions, you will see how your purpose and direction is being laid out for you. This way, you can know that your destiny is seeking you and you do not need to get lost searching for it.

Take a leap of faith – out of the known and into your heart, where you no longer need to find the way, you become the way.
