With the remnants of the past rapidly disintegrating around us, the theme of the current lunar cycle (since the New Moon on October 9th) has been about liberating ourselves from the illusions that burn — those of deception, separation, lack, past pain, and the protections we build to try and shield ourselves from future pain. Helping us to shake off the dynamics that have felt draining, tired and uninspiring, this lunar cycle has been a time for expressing our authentic inner self (come what may) and learning to trust that when we stand in our truth, our authenticity will be reflected back to us by the world around us — often in ways we could never foresee or anticipate.
Now, as the Full Moon in Taurus reaches its zenith, we are experiencing a total change in perspective as our focus shifts from transcending illusions (negative) to actualizing the will of our highest Self (positive) — a state that is fundamentally free of illusions! Guided by our unique inner light, we are learning to intentionally and meaningfully manifest our truth and authenticity in everything we say, do, create and be — and the result is magnificent!
Let’s look at the astrological energy patterns that are reflecting our evolution during this current lunar cycle.
A Shift in Perspective
Mars in Aquarius square Jupiter and Mercury in Scorpio; Saturn in Capricorn square Chiron in Pisces.
The alignment of Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and in Aquarius is currently forcing us to break free from limiting thought patterns and beckoning us to see our current situation with innovative new ways of thinking. The evolutionary intention of this alignment brings to us an ongoing opportunity to cut away and to release old shadow behaviours — patterns that are rooted in the past experience of our values, ideas and perceptions being aligned with a different paradigm of collective thinking.
Although there is much confusion right now, what is clear is that we feel like we have outgrown our current circumstances and we desperately want to embrace a new way of being that is in alignment with our new concept of truth and reality (anything else feels intolerable.) Jupiter and Mercury in Scorpio are in a balsamic phase relationship to each other, an alignment that signifies closure; the end of a thought pattern or cycle of belief.
As we become aware of these patterns, we can help to shift our perspective by embracing the energy of Mars in Aquarius — an energy of drive, intention and determination. Saturn in Capricorn square Chiron helps us see that whatever does not support our new path of self-discovery will not feel solid and stable, and will quickly fall away. Saturn square Chiron will also support our awareness of old wounds that have caused us to deny our shadow self, and of the fears that are holding us back. This is a crucial part of this alignment: If we choose to truly acknowledge and honour our limitations, we will create a valuable opportunity to respond to them differently, and even transcend them completely.
The Moon conjunct Uranus in Taurus oppose the Sun in Scorpio conjunct Venus Retrograde in Scorpio, and both squaring the South Node in Aquarius and the North Node in Leo.
The evolutionary intention of these alignments is to support us in choosing a new path of creative self-actualisation in every moment.
Since May 2017 the karmic Nodes of the Moon have been influencing our spiritual evolution by bringing us closer to what really feels purposeful and meaningful in our lives. We have been working through many layers of collective subconscious trauma, and this clearing out of old shadow material buried deep in our psyche has allowed us to get closer to building and establishing a strong foundation of creative self-expression — a foundation that is now ready to come to fruition.
During the Retrograde season of June, July and August, we journeyed deep into our own person psyche to see old patterns of the self that did not support the next phase of our evolutionary growth. Now, having worked through these karmic lessons, we have reached a point in our evolutionary timeline where the stage is set and our framework is in place. We are no longer preparing, we are here, manifesting and cultivating our highest sense of self in our daily lives in every action that we choose
The Full Moon in Taurus brings with it the awareness that, in order to sustain, support and nourish our new direction, our core values must be the main influence in each choice we make and each action we take. As we truly begin to actualize our highest self, this place of creation and self-love will always render the highest quality of life experience.
The key wisdom in the grand fixed square alignment (in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) is to see that anything that wanted to thrive (Taurus) in nature needs love (Leo) and commitment (Scorpio), and with these values nourished anything can achieve its greatest potential (Aquarius).
Fulfillment or Meaningless
Pluto in Capricorn sextile Mercury and Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces; Chiron in Pisces trine the North Node in Leo.
The supporting cast for this Full Moon brings us an awareness of the difference between what is inspirational and what is not. Whenever Neptune, Pluto, Saturn or any planets in the signs Pisces, Capricorn and Scorpio are connected together, they will bring mutation. This combination of energy is akin to the caterpillar turning into a butterfly, a process of dissolving and rejuvenation through which the old form is replaced with a new form. This process is often beautiful in nature, revealing the alchemical process of biological mutation in all its glory.
Similarly, in our human bodies, we can mutate our form by changing the state of our spiritual self. When we embody an emotional state, the body carries out the actions of our inner world. If we feel emotionally relaxed, our body relaxes; if we feel emotionally stressed, our bodily processes become strained. This means that, if we are to change our life experiences, we do it by shifting our inner world.
The way to sense when mutation wants to move through us is when we begin to feel the emptying of the vessel (body) — and we generally experience this as feelings of meaningless or a lack or spirit, when we literally reach the end of an energetic cycle.
In this way, the current Full Moon in Taurus reveals to us that we are on a precipice. We have a choice to to cling onto what once gave us meaning, or to embody that which gives us joy and fulfillment now, while at the same time paying gratitude to the old constructs that once held meaning in our life — the patterns that brought us here to this point.
The Full Moon’s Message: Guided By Our Inner Light
There are transitional points in our evolutionary journey when the opposing forces are equally prevalent in our awareness. Where they hold equal strength as they oppose each other and thereby highlighting the very dynamics at play. Where the past and the future become opposed in our consciousness, bringing an opportunity for immense awareness of where we stand within that unfolding story and what dynamics we must let go of and what we must embrace.
Imaging yourself standing in the center of four points in space, Looking in four directions and seeing clearly the different elements. Any movement tipping the balance and leading to irrevocable change. So how do we navigate yourself from such a point? The answer is by integrating the 5th element and thereby alchemising the opposing elements within us. By staying true to our inner compass; the wisdom of our hearts, our inherent values, integrity and grace. By making conscious choices to stay responsive and not reactive. By conscious intent and conscious action to embody our inner truth and not one our environment seems to be triggering out of us.
We are the the alchemical vessel and when the proportions of the elements within the vessel are exact the alchemy can occur. We have a beautiful opportunity for the transcendence of past limitations based in the lack of reverence in ourselves and life, the fears and doubts that have infected our consciousness and stopped us from believing in ourselves, and life. We have a beautiful opportunity to transcend those limitations by surrendering to our inner truth, by living in total trust that our inner light will guide us and that life will reflect the exact circumstances we need in every moment.
We can create a new story line for ourselves which doesn’t entail running from the past or avoiding the future by transforming the way we embody our every moment.
Are you ready to be the change you need in your life?
