Love or Fear – What Are You Afraid of?
May 17th
Contributing Writer for Wake Up World
When we narrow it down to all the emotions we can experience, the good news is there are only two choices, which makes our decision-making process simple. There’s love, which is our deepest desire, and then there’s that thing we call fear, which we find intolerable. In the long run, love is really everything, and fear is truly nothing.
It’s as important to know how to become unbound as it is bound, and that old cliché, ‘turn and face the music,’ seems appropriate here because we always choose one experience at the expense of the other.
Until we can pinpoint the underlying cause of all fear, we’re going to struggle with the unrest it causes in our psyche, and diminish the awareness of our own perfect peace and joy, which are our natural inheritance.
Fear and conflict are interchangeable, and certainly nothing we want in our lives. Most of us will find our own fear listed here, or a variation on the same theme. After reading through some examples, we’ll get into ways to release those fears so we can be happy and at peace. Let’s assume for the moment that fear is a decision, which can be overcome by belief, faith, and an inner knowing that everyone would like to achieve.

Mind Over Matter – The Ego-Body Illusion
Apr 2nd
Contributing Writer for Wake Up World
It is with continuing interest that the world has been hearing about Mind – Body – Spirit (MBS) matters for the last 30 years or so, at least since the awareness of the Spiritual Revolution sparked in our minds. MBS is such a contradiction in terms of trying to reconcile that which cannot be reconciled. Reality isn’t found through opposing viewpoints, nor is it discovered through that which isn’t real, such as a temporary device. This idea, of course, is based on the assumption that reality is changeless and eternal. The opposing viewpoint, which seems to be the most popular theory to date, is that reality changes all the time, which means there is no eternal truth. This looks like a major impasse…

The Yoga of Eating – Part 3 of 3

Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline, meaning to join or unite. Yoga, in every sense, revolves around how we choose to nourish ourselves in order to attain self-realization. Since enlightenment travels in a vertical line, most of us will start our process with the physical body, and work our way up to the spiritual body during this incarnation. As the mental/spiritual ‘body’ awakens, our thoughts eclipse the state of our physical being in favor of our state of mind, which explains why ‘peace of mind’ is the most widely sought after goal in the human experience.
While we seem to be having a human experience, replete with a physical body, we will devote a lot of time to nourishing this vehicle. The vehicle itself is simply a means for communication in this world. All real communication, however, will always take place in the invisible, intangible world of thought.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine – PCRM – a Washington, DC based nonprofit organization formed in 1985, brings a lot of evidence to the table about the correlation between what we eat and our physical and mental health.
Here, in the land of the free, home of the brave, we have access to more food choices than just about anyone on the planet. All kinds of conclusions are being drawn about the fact that nearly 80% of American children are overweight, and most adults carry around an extra 30 – 50 pounds of excess fat. We also have one of the highest rates of cancers, diabetes, and heart disease in the world. The cost of this, in terms of human health, is enormous and catastrophic. In areas of the world where eating lower on the food chain is a way of life, the most common painful killers in our society are rarely seen.
As a modern society, the shift to a more vegetarian-based diet is on the rise. The food pyramid has been radically altered from what it was just 25 years ago, and stresses the ultra-importance of a diet that is high in complex carbohydrates and fiber.

The Yoga of Eating – How Food Choices Affect our World… Part 1 of 3

For those of you who have read any of my previous articles posted on Wake Up World, you know that my main focus is on healing the mind from our false sense of separation from love. All the decisions we make while we are having a human experience will reflect in our bodies, which are temporary, and are simply vehicles for communication in this world. All real communication is mental, and this is undeniable.
But while we seem to be here in this world, each of us will carry the weight of the physical world, and we call this ‘the body.’ Bearing in mind that the body will not last, we can still make decisions about how we choose to see it, and what its perceived purpose in our lives is. We can also make decisions about how we choose to take care of this vehicle, and this three-part series will revolve around our food choices, the impact of these choices on our bodies, and the world as a whole.

The Patience Manifesto

No doubt, the ‘me generation’ suffers on many levels from a lack of patience. Any takers? We want it now! Whatever ‘it’ is. How many of us have blown our stack for decades because we have to wait? We wait in line, wait for the plane or train to depart or arrive, wait for a raise, wait for the check in the mail, wait on our significant other, or for our friend to be on time for the first time, wait for a phone call, wait for a child to learn to tie his shoes, or get beyond the potty training part of her life. Regardless of what the wait is all about, most of us get annoyed (or worse) by being forced to wait. How about waiting for the waitress in a restaurant? We could make a long list of complaints here.

Love 101: Love is Real

As improbable as it may appear, there really is a solution to all the problems which seem to confront us everyday. One problem – one solution. At the risk of sounding trite and completely immature, that one problem can be reduced to the fact that we just flat-out refuse to love each other. But really, anyone who has ever tried love as a solution to heal an unhappy situation has always met with the exact same result. It always works, it never lets us down. Maybe we should try love as an alternative to everything else we have tried that has totally failed and see where that takes us.
It appears the human race is on the threshold of recognizing and acknowledging that our life takes place in the mind. The attainment of peace of mind is the one desire that we share, and there are some very simple steps that anyone can take to secure this for themselves. It is also apparent that everyone in this world is looking for love. But the majority of us will spend an inordinate amount of time and a ton of energy pursuing love, which is inherent in who and what we are. So, what is preventing us from recognizing that love, peace, joy and happiness are already within us? Back to square one … we refuse to love each other.

The Shift Has Hit The Fan

There’s no denying the world is undergoing a remarkable transformation as the spiritual revolution takes hold in our minds. This shift can be witnessed as terrestrial thought as a whole. One current example of this pivotal moment was clearly seen as the Occupy Movement, which took place all over the world. This, IMHO, is simply a reflection of our universal desire for unity, cooperation, and our unwavering recognition that, underneath it all, Love is the Answer.
The new frontier in communication, mental telepathy, is the ability to communicate through our sharing of thought rather than the spoken word. Enough of us have had moments of crystal clear communication with others to know that we have bypassed the potential and arrived at the reality of this phenomenon in the human experience. If we can accomplish this on a personal, intimate scale with those we are closest to, then what’s to stop us from expanding our ability to communicate telepathically with everyone?

Sweet Forgiveness Healing Hearts and Minds

We’ve all been running around in circles, trying to find the golden key that unlocks the door and releases our permanent happiness, reminds us of who and what we are, and reveals what our purpose in life is. In a nutshell, our real purpose is to bring peace to the world by bringing peace to our own mind. In order to accomplish this miracle, each of us will need to focus on one goal: The Mastery of Forgiveness. Over the course of time, there will be some arm wrestling over the true meaning of what it means to forgive, but any way we slice it, every time we forgive, we have just increased our happiness.

The Gratitude Attitude!

Be Loving = Be Happy!
Hold Grievances = Be Miserable…
It seems we’ve fallen victim to believing our thoughts can be kept private, and it doesn’t matter what we think. So, we drift through this life with a happy facade on the outside, but what’s going on in our inner life? Now is a good time to revisit our desire for peace of mind. This, as we know, is all-encompassing and critical to our yearning for happiness. Nothing will make anyone feel more successful than to simply be happy.
Believing our ‘private thoughts’ don’t matter is a total fantasy. Everything we experience in this life is bound up in our thought system, which is where all healing takes place. Our mental attitude reflects in the body, and makes the body seem sick or well, according to our thoughts. We already know that the body isn’t going to last, because all things in the material world eventually fade away. But while we are here in the world, or seem to be here, why not let our bodies reflect a state of mind that is at peace with itself and recognizes the unity that binds us all together. If you would really like to explore your mind and discover how simple it really is to be happy and at peace, please listen to a radio show called: The Source of Love, which is available on demand on the Beyond Diapers webpage.

Out With The Old … In With The Bold. Love happens … but not without you.

Here we are on the threshold of the New Year, and most of the world has made some sort of insane arrangement to stay true to resolutions. We all do it – it’s only natural to want a new beginning in the New Year. Lists are good. If we can clarify our desires and make a list, it helps us stay on track and increase the odds of accomplishing our goals. A list is a reminder of things we would like to manifest as the New Year materializes. I call this my Spirit Wish List, which rarely revolves around personal desires, but rather, attempts to envision a world where love and peace are the norm and everything else is just an error in our perception.
