Earlier this year Facebook changed how your news feed and notifications work, so you may not be seeing posts from Wake Up World as often as before.
To ensure you receive our posts on Facebook, here’s what you can do…
Like our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/joinwakeupworld
On a desktop computer:
1) Press the ‘Liked’ button on our page. You’ll see a drop-down menu appear.
2) Select ‘Get Notifications’ from the menu to ensure you see Wake Up World notifications in your news feed.
3) If you want to see Wake Up World notifications at the top of your news feed, select ‘See First’ from the drop down menu.
On a mobile:
1) Press the ‘Following’ button on our page.
2) To see Wake Up World notifications at the top of your news feed, select the ‘See First’ option.
Please note: You can only set up the ‘Get Notifications’ option from a desktop computer. This option adds Wake Up World notifications into your general news feed but doesn’t feature them at the top of your feed. So, if that’s your preference, be sure to set it up next time you’re on a desktop computer.
What Did Facebook Change?
The changes announced by Facebook direct more posts from “friends” to your news feed and less posts from the pages and you follow. As a result, users who leave their page set to the ‘default’ settings are seeing more personal posts from friends and less articles from alternative news pages (as well as less from public figures, businesses, advertisers etc.) By choosing the ‘Get Notification’ and/or ‘See First’ settings on our page, it lets Facebook know to notify you of our posts, and bypasses the new default algorithm.
Facebook’s algorithm changes also reduced how many of your comments and ‘likes’ are shared with your friends, instead notifying your friends of posts you actively share. So if you want to spread our posts around Facebook, be sure to press the ‘Share’ button, not just ‘Like’. You’ll reach more of your friends that way, and help us Wake Up the World! 🙂
