[This is the fourth in a series of seven articles – the first step is here]
7 steps. 7 teachings. Are you willing? Are you worth it? Of course, you are!
Step 4 begins in the choice realm.
Choices are not limited to time and space. They can have a tremendous impact in the moment of for centuries to come. Some choices are short-lived and relegated to your local environment.
Others change the world!!!
What choices did you make before the world shifted to put you in the position you are now?

Would you make those same choices again?
What if anything would you have done differently, knowing what you know now?
The world has changed. It will not go back to the way it was. Now we all have new choices to make daily on many different topics that will indeed impact our future and our children’s children’s futures as well. We are in uncharted territory so being able to make wise choices is critical. We must remember the ancient practice of using choice to not become slaves to the outside environment.
As we know many choices have been made for us. There has never been a time like this in history, where the whole world changed in the blink of an eye. Some countries are still in full lockdown mode. Other places have less strict protocols. But who would have ever imagined in some places we would need a paper or have to send a text message to leave our houses?
That was a choice made by someone or many that we did not participate in. Yet now we have to learn the new world and the way we are told to live. That is the power of choice.
Whether choices are positive or negative is not the point here, it’s the implication of what choices can do in a split second of time. We need to learn to observe without attachment to what’s happening in our environment and become more equipped to navigate the streets of the unknown.
That being said let’s start a little closer to home. Let’s start with you.
There are so many subtle components to making choices that the majority of the time we have no idea of why we choose what we choose. Nowadays most choices are fear-based in order to survive.
Everyone makes choices in his or her own personal manner. There is a distinct pattern that is developed, unique to the individual. Like a fingerprint, only it’s our choice print. Once established, this imprint is used for all future choices. This imprint has the dynamics of genetic influence and social conditioning often with a hint of religion thrown in to create a perception of what’s possible or not possible in our lives.
Have you ever stopped to consider how you make a choice in the first place? What ingredients are needed? What, when, and why you choose what you choose and the outcome of those choices? Our choices determine what we experience. they offer the opportunity to shift a pattern that has long plagued and colored life in a context that keeps us in a state of mediocrity. Are you willing to let go of the fear mechanism that tries to protect you from future pain by limiting your current awareness of the scope and gravity of your choice pattern?
It’s quite simple, life requires the forever choice. The forever choice is a fundamental understanding that there is no one and done choice. It’s a continuum. We must engage in our own lives to be able to make solid choices.
Something must be noted here: to make lasting change we must move in alignment with our new choice not dragging the past attitudes of failure. Once we make a new choice we can not go back to the old way of thinking acting and living then expect a different outcome. This doesn’t work. Powerful choices require powerful action and a willingness to change.
7 Tools to Help Open the Way For Lasting Change
#1 We must be willing to shift our emotional attachments that limit our experiences and expand our vision to see the life we want.
#2 Use the imagination with a sense of excitement when flirting with a possible choice.
#3 Fall in love with the possibility of actually accomplishing your new choice.
#4 Learn to own your choices, and not be powerless to the choices of others.
#5 Always move forward, learn the lessons of past choices, and don’t repeat the pattern.
#6 Don’t get stuck on anything use the creative energy to find the next steps.
#7 Expand the beliefs and the energy of the possibilities of what you are truly capable of.
As we begin to activate these tools we create a bond of internal trust. A sense of excitement about our life begins to emerge within our mind, body, and spirit. How would that feel to accomplish something that has alluded you for 10, 20, maybe 50 years? Things begin to happen that pull you on that path to continue making good choices, as a byproduct of that, we start to feel grateful and our heart begins to grow.
Choice allows us to move forward.
It’s not my intention to tell you what someone should think, do or say. It is my intention to suggest becoming aware and creating a healthy pattern of making solid choices for you and your families.
Try this:
For 7 days tune in to your choice patterns. Listen to the voices that take precedent when it comes time to make any choice. Feel your feelings at the time of making any choice. Don’t judge or punish self just become the observer. Try to capture the essence of why you choose what you choose.
Then:
For 7 days write down your experiences with the choices you make. Search your emotional responses and triggers to the choices. Listen to the voices that either exalt or inhibit your choices.
Ask questions about the choice and if it’s appropriate at this time? If so follow the road to the next choice. But if you feel doubt or confusion about your choice stop relax and breathe. If you desire to review the article on breathing, choose an exercise to expand the lungs, and slow down the brain waves. Once you feel more balanced make the choice again. Check to see and feel if there is a difference?
As we learn to shift and solidify into our new state of making choices it creates a new character and choice print, the old begins to fall away.
As a by-product, a sense of power will begin to emerge from your inner self making future choices easier and more clear.
