Millions of Fellow Human Beings Need Our Help NOW!

This is our opportunity to transform the future of humanity.

In 1987, I took part in a worldwide meditation – it was the Harmonic Convergence and the beginning of what many call “the New Age”. During this meditation, I witnessed the Earth break open, and inside a New Vibrant and Thriving Earth revealed itself to me.

Even as conditions have worsened over the last few decades, I have never forgotten that Sacred Vision. Despite evidence to the contrary, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that underneath the war, destruction and poverty that devastates our precious planet, there is a Bright New World cracking through the seams. You and I now hold that key. Yet, as we wait for our cultures or governments to change, we have forgotten that we have the power to transform humanity now and for future generations.

Yes, innovation and sustainability are crucial to changing the course for our planet, but this transformation also requires a vast opening of the heart. We have found ourselves in this global dilemma because we have been acting as if we are separate – competing against each other and withholding love and compassion.

There are moments in history where energetic portals open, and we have greater access to Global Change. These portals are opportunities ingeniously disguised as challenges.

Right now, one of these opportunities exist. There are millions of refugees fleeing from Syria and Afghanistan, as well as other countries, due to devastating war. Along with the ongoing war in Libya, and drought and famine in Africa, our world is experiencing the worst refugee crisis since World War II.

Before us lies a Sacred Invitation to transform humanity, by embracing and giving unconditional love where it is needed most.

The first influx of refugees arrived in Middle Eastern countries where camps were established. Unfortunately, as conditions worsened, the refugees overwhelmed international organizations, and resources have dried up. For example, almost 2 million refugees were critically impacted when the United Nations World Food Program cut off food assistance due to lack of funding. As conditions in these overcrowded camps worsened, many Syrians and others decided to move further north to Europe, eventually joining other refugees from Libya and Africa.

In order to reach Europe, countless refugees have embarked on a treacherous and illegal journey across the sea. Often this involves flimsy rafts without navigational devices. Thousands of men, women and children have already drowned. Those who make it arrive without any resources, as they have been forced to leave everything behind.

Things are changing every day but many of those who do make it to land have been denied entrance to the embarkation country, often being met with violence and no hope for help. Germany opened their doors to refugees but at the writing of this, those doors are closed now due to an overwhelming number of refuges and not enough resources. This means that enormous numbers of refugees setting off on dangerous journeys to unknown lands have been left in limbo.

What would you do for the safety of your children and your loved ones? I can only imagine what it would be like to flee from my home and country in order to save the lives of my children, and the life that is my own.

These precious people are just like you and me. They are us. They are our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, friends, spouses and babies. They want to be free and they want to be safe, and they are willing to risk their lives to do so. I would do anything to keep those I love safe from harm.

It is time to recognize that even if one of us is homeless or hungry, all of us are. I know that it might seem overwhelming to make even a small difference but a small difference always makes a huge shift.

This is not a political matter as much as it is a matter of humanity – a matter of love and compassion, and ultimately a matter of Global Transformation that emerges, as we reach out and embrace our fellow human beings who are now in dire need.

My grandparents were refugees from Lithuania who came to America in the early 1900’s – if it weren’t for the open arms of those just like you and me, I probably would not have been born. I don’t know who helped my grandparents but whoever you were, thank you. You made a difference.

There is a Divine Force asking us to choose – will we turn our backs in denial or will we go out of our comfort zones and help those who need our unconditional love and support the most right now. Will we include or exclude?

Human to human, let us open our minds so that we might open our hearts – helping anyway we can. Whether that is physical donations, a box of socks or a prayer.

A single choice of opening Your Heart aligns you with a reality of world harmony and healing. Isn’t this what we came here to do?

How we respond now will set the tone for the world to come… Are we separate or are we One?

You might think that what you have to offer is not enough or what difference can you make in the grand scheme of things. I thought the same at first, and then I remembered the “The Starfish Story”:

A young man is walking along the ocean and sees a beach on which thousands and thousands of starfish have washed ashore. Further along he sees an old man, walking slowly and stooping often, picking up one starfish after another and tossing each one gently into the ocean.

“Why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?” he asks.

“Because the sun is up and the tide is going out and if I don’t throw them further in, they will die.”

“But, old man, don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it! You can’t possibly save them all, you can’t even save one-tenth of them. In fact, even if you work all day, your efforts won’t make any difference at all.”

The old man listened calmly and then bent down to pick up another starfish and threw it into the sea. “It made a difference to that one.”

We, the people of Earth, are one family, separate we falter, together we thrive. It is time we remember, there is only One.

There are many groups already formed to help the refugees, but you can also begin your own. There is no limit to what we might create and heal together.
