4 Diseases That May Be Reversed Naturally Without Pharmaceutical Drugs

reverse disease naturally

Despite the medical model which relies on pharmaceutical intervention for every known illness, there are well over one hundred common diseases that can be reversed naturally. In particular, research indicates that arthritis (both rheumatoid and osteo), type 2 diabetes, hypertension and cancer can all be treated  with proper herbal strategies, nutrition and exercise.

1) Arthritis

Osteoarthritis

There are over 17,000 Americans who die yearly and unnecessarily from arthritis medications. Osteoarthritis is thought to be a normal consequence of aging, caused by routine “wear and tear” on joints. It is thought that cartilage cannot heal itself. Of foremost importance is the notion that osteoarthritis is associated with an inevitable progression to disability, and nothing can stop or reverse the process. These concepts have been overturned by recent research findings a number of studies are finding that inflammatory mediators promote more a rapid progression of cartilage to be degraded.

There is substantial evidence that osteoarthritis can be reversible. A new term introduced from Europe describes the actions of two categories of nutrients found to aid in reversal of osteoarthritis. Chondroprotective agents promote repair of cartilage by stimulating anabolic metabolism of chondrocytes and/or inhibiting catabolic processes found in osteoarthritis. This concept of helping chondrocytes to heal cartilage, rather than reliance on palliative analgesics, is a relatively new concept that gets more to the actual causes of osteoarthritis, as well as treating the symptoms.

Antioxidants with known chondroprotective abilities are ascorbate (vitamin C), tocopherol (vitamin E), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase, and other antioxidant nutritents have shown in vitro protection. Antioxidants share common properties of inhibition of free radical damage to cartilage, modulation of immune functions to resist auto-immunity, decrease of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins, inhibition of degradative enzymes, and for vitamin C, direct anabolic stimulation of chondrocytes.

Joint cartilage can be repaired using a combination of glucosamine sulfate (most important: 750 mg 2 times a day for at least 6 weeks), MSM (2-3 grams a day), and Chondroitin (400 mg 3x day). It is also critical that you get broad nutritional support (a good multi-vitamin powder supplement is best).

Use natural anti-inflammatories to prevent damage and decrease or eliminate pain.

Boswellia
(also known as Frankincense). In one study, this decreased arthritis pain by over 80% and it is a powerful anti-inflammatory. Use 900-1,000 mg a day.

Willow bark. This is the original natural source for aspirin. Because it combines many natural compounds, it is more effective and has been shown to not cause the stomach bleeding caused by arthritis medications. In head on studies, it was twice as effective as Motrin, and as effective as Vioxx.

DMSO has many uses, but it is known mostly as a natural pain killer and transporter. First synthesized in 1866, DMSO is a sulfur-containing organic compound that is derived from MSM, and can be used internally or externally. DMSO can aid injuries such as sprained ankles, sore muscles and joints, and even fractures. It is very effective in treating joint pain when combined with capsaicin which dramatically increases effectiveness.

Restore function with stretching, exercise, weight loss, and heat. Exercise at least 20 minutes a day. Swimming, walking, and yoga are good choices. Use a heating pad or moist heat for up to 20 minutes at a time to give relief.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

RA is your immune system’s response to things going wrong within your body. The smaller joints get affected first, then larger ones and slowly the organs of the body also get affected. It is not very uncommon for RA patients to develop heart and other organ related diseases as their immune system works towards destroying their bodily functions.

One of the major underlying causes of RA is an accumulation of nutritional deficiencies. Since RA is primarily an immune system disorder, if the immune system is strengthened with the help of nutrition, the symptoms of RA reduce drastically.

Generally speaking, raw foods, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds should form 60 to70 percent of your diet. You should also switch to green tea instead of their regular tea and coffee.

Certain types of intestinal bacteria could be linked to the development and progression of rheumatoid arthritis. Most importantly you should eliminate foods like sugar, white flour, processed meats and cold drinks. These foods are extremely dangerous for patients with RA as they only aggravate the process of inflammation and destruction of their body’s defense mechanism.

Modify your diet and including nuts, fruits and green vegetables, that help in controlling inflammation. Add raw garlic, green tea and fish oil supplements (these foods also have anti-inflammatory components). Many of those who follow the above suggestions decrease their blood markers for RA after just 6 months to 1 year. Some sooner

Yoga and pranayama is great for people with RA. The pain and stiffness that they feel is often excruciating and causes their joints to freeze making it difficult for them to move. Therefore, a combination of yoga and pranayama helps reduce these symptoms considerably. While, yoga keeps their joints supple and flexible, pranayama helps in the efficient release of toxins from the body, thereby reducing pain. (Read: Pranayama — why it actually works!)

Tai chi, an ancient Chinese martial art, may alleviate some of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and help sufferers better cope with daily life.

Vitamin D — which the body makes when exposed to sunlight — may help prevent rheumatoid arthritis sufferers and some patients who have moved closer to the equator reverse their symptoms completely.

Stay away from creams and cosmetics with nanoparticles which have been linked to rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases.

2) Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes is a disease which affects over 370 million people worldwide with increasing frequency every year. Also known as adult onset diabetes, Type 2 is a metabolic disorder that results when the body cannot make enough or properly use insulin, a hormone that converts food to energy. Type 2 diabetes accounts for 90 to 95 percent of diabetes cases and more tan 95% of type 2  diabetic cases can be reversed within 1 year of diagnosis with nutritional balancing and exercise.

A study published in January 2012 in the Archives of Internal Medicine linked statins to 48 percent increased risk for type-2 diabetes.

The evidence of lifestyle modifications, including diet and exercise to curb diabetes is overwhelming. The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), a trial published in 2002, found intensive lifestyle interventions such as diet or exercise were more effective than the diabetes drug metformin in preventing the onset of type 2 diabetes.

The researchers compared the cost-effectiveness of diet and exercise programs in preventing diabetes versus either the use of the drug metformin, or placebo. The diet-exercise program, however, cost society about $8,800 while taking the pill cost about $29,000 per year of healthy life saved. Diet and exercise delayed the onset of type 2 diabetes by about 11 years, while metformin delayed the onset by about three years.

While lifestyle changes may be more difficult to make and adhere to than taking a pill, experts say that making the transition to a healthy diet and regular exercise is key.

“The important points of the study are that minimal changes in lifestyle are within the possibility of many different free-living individuals of different ethnicity and culture, and that it works better than medications,” says Dr. Philip Orlander, professor and director of endocrinology at the University of Texas, Houston.

Finnish researchers found that diet and exercise counseling resulted in a 58% reduction in diabetes risk among people who are prime candidates for developing the condition, which is associated with obesity and sedentary lifestyle.

According to two recent Harvard studies, a diet rich in certain high-carbohydrate foods–those low in fiber and with a high glycemic index — increases the risk of Type 2 diabetes, at least in those predisposed to it.

Supplementation with the amino acid arginine could help to improve glucose metabolism by as much as 40%, according to research demonstrating that supplementation with the amino acid significantly improves those with both insulin-sensitive and insulin-resistant metabolisms. In fact, the amino acid is just as effective as several well-established drugs for type 2 diabetics.

Frequent consumption of walnuts could help to slash the risk of type 2 diabetes by almost a quarter. The data comes from more than analysis of 135,000 people in the USA over a ten year period. Led by Professor Frank Hu and his team at the Harvard School of Public Health, USA, the researchers investigated the possible association between walnut intake and the incidence of type 2 diabetes in 2 large cohort studies: the Nurses’ Health Study (NHS) and NHS II.

Another study by Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and University of Southern Denmark researchers found that men who combine weight training and aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking or running, may be able to reduce their risk up to 59% without medication.

A weight gain of 11 to 18 pounds increases a person’s risk for developing type 2 diabetes to twice that of individuals who have not gained weight, while those who gain 44 pounds or more have four times the risk of type 2 diabetes.

An exercise program that combines aerobics and weight lifting is most effective in reversing diabetes. About 100 minutes of higher-intensity aerobic exercise a week, and then two days of resistance training for 15 to 20 minutes a day was found to be very effective in defeating type 2 diabetes.

3) HyperTension (High Blood Pressure)

High blood pressure, also called hypertension, is, simply, elevated pressure of the blood in the arteries. Hypertension results from two major factors, which can be present independently or together: The heart pumps blood with excessive force, or; The body’s smaller blood vessels (known as the arterioles) narrow, so that blood flow exerts more pressure against the vessels’ walls. The disease is both 100% preventable and reversible in those willing to adopt lifestyle modification.

In combination, Lisinopril and Norvasc make up a whopping 23% of the top prescribed medications in the world. The consequences of long-term use include cancer, blood disorders, development of breasts in men, impotence, depression, tachycardia, enlargement of gums, inflammation of the liver, elevated blood glucose, hepatitis and life threatening skin conditions.

What causes it?

Poor dietary choices, medication, and sedentary lifestyles are the three primary causes of high blood pressure. Since high blood pressure boosts the odds of heart disease, stroke and kidney disease, this lifetime risk represents a “huge public health burden.”

Women who take painkillers such as Tylenol, Motrin and Advil may be setting themselves up for significantly higher blood pressure even if they don’t already suffer from hypertension.

According to the CDC, salt will increase your blood pressure and your risk for a heart attack and stroke. The Department of Agriculture’s dietary guidelines still consider salt Public Enemy No. 1, coming before fats, sugars and alcohol. However, a study by lead researcher Dr. Niels Graudal, of Copenhagen University Hospital in Denmark, adds to a growing body of research questioning the long-term benefits of a low-salt diet. A review of seven previous studies published in the journal the Cochrane Library found that a moderate reduction in salt intake did not reduce a person’s risk of dying or having heart disease. Low Salt Diets Do Not Decrease Blood Pressure, Period.

There are a multitude of whole foods, vitamins and minerals that can treat and reverse hypertension.

Any foods high in vitamin C (chili peppers, guavas, bell peppers, thyme, parsley, dark leafy greens, broccoli), any foods high in magnesium (chocolate, green leafy vegetables, Brazil nuts, almonds, cashews, blackstrap molasses, pumpkin and squash seeds, pine nuts, and black walnuts) and any foods high in potassium (mushrooms, bananas, dark green leafy vegetables, sweet potatoes, oranges and dates) can counteract high blood pressure. Coconut oil/water and CoQ10 are also very effective for lowering blood pressure.

A 2010 study carried out by Queen Mary’s University in London found that drinking just one 250ml glass of beetroot juice a day dramatically lowered blood pressure for several hours. It also found that the higher the blood pressure, the greater the drop observed.

Vegetarians tend to have lower blood pressure than the general population and is clearly the diet of choice for people who want to get their blood pressure under control. One study involving California Adventists found that vegetarians have about half the prevalence of hypertension compared to non-vegetarian Adventists. Because vegetarian diets are generally high in fruits and vegetables, people who follow this diet consume more potassium than those who eat a diet of meat and vegetables.

Canadian scientists have found that apples are more effective than other “superfoods” including green tea and blueberries as a source of antioxidants and chemical compounds called flavonoids that combat potentially life-threatening conditions including high blood pressure.

Intake of grape seeds or grape seed extracts can reduce blood pressure and protect against obesity-induced organ damage caused by high-fat diets.

A study released in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that taking vitamin C supplements in the short-term reduces both systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) all without any side effects making it an excellent natural alternative to dangerous medications.

More magnesium, potassium and calcium have been inversely linked to hypertension in most observational studies. Dietary sources of magnesium include green, leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds. Magnesium supplementation is associated with a 3 to 4 mmHg reduction in systolic blood pressure and a 2-3 mmHg reduction in diastolic blood pressure, with the best results observed for doses over 2000 milligrams per day.

Loading up on potassium-rich fruits and vegetables is an important part of any blood pressure-lowering program, says Linda Van Horn, PhD, RD, professor of preventive medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medical. Aim for potassium levels of 2,000 to 4,000 mg a day, she says. Top sources of potassium-rich produce include sweet potatoes, tomatoes, oranges, bananas, kidney beans, peas, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, and dried fruits such as prunes and raisins. Beans and legumes are full of fiber, protein and potassium.

Use ice-pressed raw olive oil linked to tremendous health benefits in reducing cardiovascular risk, cancer, pain, allergies and improving weight loss, digestion, eye health and glutathione levels. The only reputable Ice-Pressed Olive Oil on the market is Rallis.

Dark chocolate varieties contain flavanols that make blood vessels more elastic. In one study, 18% of patients who ate it every day saw blood pressure decrease. Have 1/2 ounce daily (make sure it contains at least 70% cocoa).

In a review of 12 studies, researchers found that coenzyme Q10 reduced blood pressure by up to 17 mmHg over 10 mmHg. The antioxidant, required for energy production, dilates blood vessels. Coenzyme Q10 is also used effectively with L-Carnitine as an endogenous antioxidant.

Lowering high blood pressure is as easy as one, two, tea: Study participants who sipped 3 cups of a hibiscus tea daily lowered systolic blood pressure by 7 points in 6 weeks on average, say researchers from Tufts University–results on par with many prescription medications.

Maintain a healthy weight, lose weight if you are overweight.

As your body weight increases, your blood pressure rises. In fact, being overweight can make you two to six times more likely to develop high blood pressure than if you are at your desirable weight. Keeping your weight in the desirable range is not only important to prevent high blood pressure but also for your overall health and well being.

It’s not just how much you weigh that’s important: it also matters where your body stores extra fat. Some people tend to gain weight around their belly; others, around the hips and thighs. “Apple-shaped” people who have a pot belly (that is, extra fat at the waist) appear to have higher health risks than “pear-shaped” people with heavy hips and thighs.

No matter where the extra weight is, you can reduce your risk of high blood pressure by losing weight. Even small amounts of weight loss can make a big difference in helping to prevent high blood pressure. Losing weight, if you are overweight and already have high blood pressure, can also help lower your pressure.

Slow breathing and meditative practices such as qigong, yoga, and tai chi decrease stress hormones, which elevate renin, a kidney enzyme that raises blood pressure. Try 5 minutes in the morning and at night. Inhale deeply and expand your belly. Exhale and release all of your tension.

4) Cancer

Perhaps one of the biggest money makers for conventional medicine is cancer.  We’ve all heard about the conventional treatments for cancer, but we never hear about “unconventional” methods of actually preventing or reversing the disease.

The medical industry  tells us chemotherapy saves lives, boosts long-term survival rates and does not damage healthy cells. Yet poison kills indiscriminately — always has and always will. Research indicates that, while damaging healthy cells, chemotherapy also triggers them to secrete a protein that sustains tumour growth and resistance to further treatment. That’s right… this protein  will actually boost cancer growth. As such, cancer treatment is the leading cause of secondary cancers.

Chemotherapy drugs (especially alkylating agents) are known to cause other cancers including leukemia many of these drugs fall into this class. Alkylating agents directly damage DNA of all cells. These agents are not phase-specific; in other words, they work in all phases of the cell cycle. Because these drugs damage DNA, they can cause long-term damage to the bone marrow and consequently affect long-term immunity. With these drugs, the risk for a second cancer develops slowly over time but their diagnosis is inevitable. Studies have shown that the risk begins to rise about two years after treatment, is highest about five to 10 years after treatment. It’s believed to be the reason most chemotherapy patients die 10-15 years after treatment.

Radiation therapy can also increase the risk of developing cancer in most people. The types of cancers linked to radiation therapy are vast, but primarily consist of leukemia and sarcomas. Studies show these cases typically develop a few years after radiation exposure with the peak of risk being about five to nine years after exposure. Again, most patients that pursue radiation therapy develop secondary cancers related to treatment and not as a consequence of the original cancer. Radiation-induced cancers have exploded in the past two decades ever since radiation has proliferated as a treatment, usually secondary to chemotherapy.

Cancerous cells cannot survive in an oxygenated environment.  In 1931 Dr. Warburg won his first Nobel Prize for proving cancer is caused by a lack of oxygen respiration in cells. He stated in an article titled The Prime Cause and Prevention of Cancer that “the cause of cancer is no longer a mystery, we know it occurs whenever any cell is denied 60% of its oxygen requirements. The prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar. All normal body cells meet their energy needs by respiration of oxygen, whereas cancer cells meet their energy needs in great part by fermentation”.

In summary, this means that cancerous cells are anaerobes (without oxygen) and healthy cells are aerobes (with oxygen).  Of course there are secondary causes of cancer, but this highly decorated research suggests that a lack of oxygen is  the #1.

What reduces oxygen levels in cells?

  1. Buildup of cellular toxicity which then damages the cellular oxygen respiration mechanism within cells.
  2. Poor blood flow in the form of red blood cells clumping which slows down the bloodstream and restricts flow into capillaries.
  3. Lack of proper building blocks for cell walls that don’t allow nutrients into the cells.
  4. An acidic environment in the body.

Cannabis

Cannabis is perhaps one of the most powerful healing plants in the world and it makes cancer essentially disappear. Cannabis compounds are responsible for halting the growth factors that are responsible for metastatic growth.

Although there has been scientific evidence that marijuana can shrink and even kill tumors since the 1970s, much of the recent public interest in this research has been inspired by Run From The Cure, a documentary about a Canadian man who claims that the concentrated oil from the cannabis plant has cured his skin cancer. He then tries the cure on a number of other cancer victims in his community with similar results.

Researchers have now found that the compound, called cannabidiol, has the ability to ‘switch off’ the gene responsible for metastasis in an aggressive form of breast cancer. Importantly, this substance does not produce the psychoactive properties of the cannabis plant.

Cannabinoids can prevent cancer, reduce heart attacks by 66% and insulin dependent diabetes by 58%. Cannabis clinician Dr. William Courtney recommends drinking 4 – 8 ounces of raw flower and leaf juice from any Hemp plant, 5 mg of Cannabidiol (CBD) per kg of body weight, a salad of Hemp seed sprouts and 50 mg of THC taken in 5 daily doses.

“If you heat the plant, you will decarboxylate THC-acid and you will get high, you”ll get your 10 mg. If you don’t heat it, you can go up to five or six hundred milligrams & use it as a Dietary Cannabis. . . and push it up to the Anti-oxidant and Neuro-protective levels which come into play at hundreds of milligrams,” stated Dr. William Courtney.

“The amount of Cannabinoids we need would be difficult to get through smoked Cannabis without feeling the intoxicating effects,” said Kristen Courtney.

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) maintains our biological systems by regulating each cell tissue. It uses Arachadonic acid/Omega 6 to make Endo-Cannabinoids: fatty molecules that communicate harm between cells. Dietary Cannabis mimics the ECS by providing Cannabinoids when there is an Arachadonic acid deficiency or Clinical Cannabinoid Deficiency.

Patients suffering from end stage Cancer need to eat buds whole.

Garlic

Cancer cells have a high metabolism and require much energy for rapid growth. Researchers reported in the Journal Cancer that that garlic compounds produced reactive oxygen species in brain cancer cells, essentially gorging them to death with activation of multiple death cascades and blocking pathways the proliferation of brain tumors. See  DMSO and Vitamin C – The Magic Duo for Cancer Treatment

Use of DMSO in medicine dates back decades. It was predominantly used as a topical analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Today, we know that DMSO can treat a variety of disorders including arthritis, mental illness, emphysema, and even cancer. While this is now considered a superb cancer treatment, orthodox medicine is not interested in discussing its benefits. If DMSO were to be implemented and used in cancer treatment, the “true cure rate” for orthodox medicine would rise from 3% to above 90%

Soursop

The Soursop is a flowering, evergreen tree native to tropical regions of the world. It also contains a long, prickly green fruit which happens to kill cancer more effectively than strong chemotherapy drugs, all without the nasty side effects and without harming healthy cells.

Turmeric

Curcumin, possibly the most powerful antioxidant known from the popular Indian spice Turmeric, has countless health benefits. A recent study led by a research team in Munich showed that it can also inhibit formation of metastases.

Curcumin exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects by inhibiting tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), suggesting that its effect on endothelial function may be mediated by the suppression of inflammation and/or oxidative stress via down-regulation of TNF-alpha.

One of the most comprehensive summaries of a review of 700 turmeric studies to date was published by the respected ethnobotanist James A. Duke, Phd. He showed that turmeric appears to outperform many pharmaceuticals  in its effects against several chronic, debilitating diseases, and does so with virtually no adverse side effects.

Grapes and Resveratrol

Resveratrol is a phenolic compound that contributes to the antioxidant potential of red grapes.

Resveratrol is not only an antioxidant and antimutagen, but also reduces oxidant-caused cell death. Resveratrol has been shown to inhibit production of nitric oxide and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-A) by lipopolysaccharide-stimulated Kuppfer cells. Kuppfer cells are macrophages fixed in place in the liver. Their chronic overproduction of nitric oxide and TNF-A due to chronic infection can cause severe liver damage.

Perhaps Resveratrol’s most important property is its ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase-2 (CoX-2). CoX-2 is related to cancers and abnormal growths in the intestinal tract. Natural CoX-2 inhibitors such as resveratrol have been shown to reduce the occurrence of cancers and pre-cancerous growths. So while pharmaceutical companies race to find complex agents that inhibit CoX-2, the ingredient is already present in red grapes which if consumed daily (or via organic grape juice) will protect against tumors naturally.

Green Tea

The health benefits of green tea are due to the presence of a group of plant flavonoids called catechins. Of particular interest to researchers is epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG), the primary catechin in green tea. For example, South Korean researchers have found that EGCG blocks TNF naturally by interfering with the ability of certain pro-inflammatory chemicals to bind to cells of smooth muscle tissue of the vascular system. In a 2009 study conducted by the Chonbuk National University Medical School, it was noted that the specific mechanism of action of EGCG in terms of blocking TNF is the suppression of fractalkine, an inflammatory agent specifically involved in the development of arteriosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries.

Tomatoes

Regular consumption of tomato and its products is being consistently associated with lower risk of several types of cancer and, to a lesser extent, coronary heart disease. Among the many tomato components credited with healthful properties, carotenoids and particularly lycopene are being actively investigated.

Modest effects of the regular intake of a tomato juice provides small amounts of carotenoids which were found on the production of inflammatory mediators, such as TNF-alpha. TNF-alpha production by whole blood was found to be more than 30% lower after almost a month of consuming raw tomato juice.

Raw Fruits and Veggies

There is sufficient evidence to indicate that a diet consisting of foods high in natural antioxidants such as raw fruits and vegetables provide anti-inflammatory benefits. The higher the intake the more they are associated with significant reductions in levels of markers of inflammation, including C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha).

Any fruits or vegetables (preferably dark colored) which are a good source of indole-3-carbinol, a chemical that boosts DNA repair in cells, blocks the growth of cancer cells. A team of researchers at Ohio State University announced that anthocyanins, the compounds that give cabbage its purple color are capable of cutting the growth of colon cancer cells both in vitro and in rats by 50%-100%, with certain extracts even destroying up to 20% of the cancer cells while leaving healthy surrounding cells intact.

Red Foods

Research confirms that red foods such as strawberries, tomatoes, raspberries, tart cherries, cranberries, and goji berries are high in immunosupportive and cancer-fighting nutrients such as lycopene and carotene. Many red foods also have high antioxidant content, making them an integral component of any anticancer diet. The antioxidant power of raspberries, strawberries, pomegranate, and dozens of other nutrient-rich fruits make some red and berry powders cancer superfoods.

Cruciferous Vegetables

Vegetables in the cruciferous family include kale, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, arugula, watercress, turnips, mustard plant, Brussels sprouts, and bok choy. Cruciferous vegetables contain detoxifying compounds called indoles and isothiocyanates, which have been proven to help prevent and reverse cancer. Recent research has identified sulforaphane, a compound found in broccoli, cabbage, and other cruciferous vegetables as a potent anticancer agent.

Green Foods

Wheatgrass, barley grass, alfalfa, blue-green algae, arugula, spinach, chlorella and spirulina, and other green foods are rich in blood-purifying chlorophyll and other important phytonutrients for detoxifying the system and rejuvenating organs. Laboratory tests have established that chlorophyll inhibits the activity of carcinogens at a molecular level. Studies have demonstrated the capacity of chlorophyll-rich foods to reduce tumor growth. Green powders are loaded with phytonutrients proven to be highly beneficial in cancer prevention and healing.

18 Spices Which Prevent or Treat Cancer

Believe it or not, but when the opposition in question is an adamant disease like cancer, everything you need to prevent or treat it is right inside your spice cabinet. These are not just dried seeds, fruits, roots, barks or any other plant-based substances to add flavor to our foods, but they double as anti-cancer agents. More than 180 spice-derived compounds have been identified and explored for their health benefits It is beyond the scope of this article to deal with all herbs and spices that may influence the risk of cancer and tumor behavior, but here are 18 highlighted which include allspice, basil, caraway, cardamom, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, clove, coriander, cumin, dill, fennel, garlic, ginger, oregano, rosemary, saffron, thyme and turmeric.

Detoxify Your Body

By detoxing I mean decreasing cellular toxicity and increasing oxygenation to cells.  Eliminating environmental toxins from your diet (by eating organically grown foods and avoiding chlorinated/fluoridated water) and your surroundings (by using non-toxic, natural cleansers, cosmetics, furniture, building materials, and clothing) will go a long way toward eliminating cancer from your life. There are a variety of ways to detox your body via water fasts, juice feasts (where you drink only fruit and vegetable juices for a set number of days), and full-on detoxification programs.

Eat Mainly Alkaline Foods

Foods that are acidic to the body consist of: meats, poultry, fish, dairy products, eggs, junk food, soda, alcohol, coffee, grains, and cereals. These foods you want to minimize in your diet. Alkaline foods, on the other hand, consist mainly of fruits and vegetables. A good percentage to aim for is 75% alkaline foods and 25% acidic foods. This may be challenging in the beginning because many people’s diets are the exact opposite. Once this becomes a bit more natural, a general guideline to shoot for is: 45% cooked fruits and vegetables, 30% RAW fruits and vegetables and 25% grains, nuts, seeds, meat, fish, or poultry.

See the Acid/Alkaline Forming Food Chart

Generally speaking, most vegetables and fruits have an alkaline-forming effect on your body fluids.

Most grains, animal foods, and highly processed foods have an acid-forming effect on your body fluids.

Your health is best served by a good mix of nutrient-dense, alkaline and acid-forming foods; ideally, you want to eat more alkaline-forming foods than acid-forming foods to have the net acid and alkaline-forming effects of your diet match the slightly alkaline pH of your blood.

There have, in addition, been research that shows the benefits of a 100% raw food diet in the treatment of cancer. The Gerson Institute in San Diego, California provides an alternative to treating cancer. The Gerson Therapy is a natural treatment that activates the body’s extraordinary ability to heal itself through an organic, vegetarian diet, raw juices, coffee enemas and natural supplements. Over the past 60 years, thousands of people have been cured of ‘incurable diseases’ including: cancer, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, and auto-immune disorders. Talk about food as medicine!
