10 Natural Remedies for Nausea

Nausea is very difficult to predict, but it helps to have the right ingredients in your kitchen to ease the pain and discomfort. Whether or not you see it coming, nausea and vomiting is never pleasant. Here are ten effective and natural home remedies for preventing and treating nausea.

1. Ginger

Without a doubt, ginger is the best stomach woe cure. Taken in any form, it will relieve nausea. If you’re traveling, take along ginger sticks or crystallized ginger instead of travel sickness pills or patches. Studies show ginger to be more effective than any potion you purchase at the pharmacy. Skip the ginger ales, or any other sodas. Much of today’s ginger ale is absent its curative ginger.

2. Cranberry Juice

Cranberry Juice is generally easy on your digestive tract and effective for many cases of nausea.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar

Adding 1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar plus 1 Tbsp of raw honey mixed in 1 cup of water generally helps nausea. Can be hot or cold to drink.

4. Pickle or Cabbage Juice

Both works almost immediately on nausea and pain. A very effective acid reducer that alkalizes the stomach. Half to one full teaspoon in a glass of water will instantly relieve symptoms.

5. Teas

Peppermint, Ginger, Mint, Chamomile, Lemon, Cumin, Raspberry, Cinnamon. Can also try a brew made with fresh ginger and lemon juice or a few cloves steeped in hot water

6. Fennel

Crush 1 tablespoon seeds and steep for ten minutes in 1 cup boiling water. Sweeten to taste with honey. Sip as necessary for nausea.

7. Aniseed

This helps cure nausea and vomiting. Brew aniseed into a tea by putting 1/4 teaspoon in 1/2 cup boiling water. Steep for five minutes. Strain and drink once a day. Or sprinkle some aniseed on mild vegetables such as carrots or pumpkin. If your stomach will tolerate fruits during or just after a bout of nausea or vomiting, try aniseed on baked apples or pears.

8. Onion

Juice an onion to make 1 teaspoon. Mix with 1 teaspoon grated ginger and take for nausea.

9. Baking Soda

1/2 tsp Baking soda in glass of warm water (don’t use this method if you’re pregnant)

10. Lemon or Lime

Suck on a wedge of lemon or lime. For an immediate nausea/vomiting stopper, mix 1 cup water, 10 drops lime juice, and 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Then add 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and drink.

Sucking on on Ice Chips or Ice Cubes or Frozen fruits can also help ease nausea.
