This week’s astrology means business. Those 3 eclipses one after the other are taking a real emotional toll and our resilience is being tested over and over. The June 21st Solar eclipse was in Cancer, last Sunday July 5th’s lunar eclipse fell across Capricorn/Cancer and the approaching New Moon on June 20th is in Cancer which means that issues of personal safety and security are taking a battering.
On Sunday 12th Mercury stations to turn direct in Cancer followed by warrior Mars in Aries encountering Chiron on Wednesday 14th. Mars tends to throw a lit match into whatever pile of tinder it finds, so things can escalate quickly, for better or worse. Unconscious Mars manifests as anger, volatility, aggression, so choose courage, initiative and Skilful Will instead of Strong Will
Mars’ conjunction with Chiron means his presence will be felt through Chironic themes – health, healing, chronic struggles, human fallibility and teaching what you need to learn.
One possibility is that COVID numbers could surge again in July, especially with Mars stoking the Chiron-in-Aries fire and amplified by the lunar eclipse.
Raising the stakes politically and personally, the Sun opposes Jupiter on July 14th, then Pluto on July 15th in the government’s sign of Capricorn before making a square to Disruptor Eris -the mechanism behind the lockdown and suspension of life as we knew it.
Finally, Venus in Gemini opposes the karmic Great Attractor, the most potent source of electromagnetic radiation in the known universe, the Great Attractor bends both space and time, giving a simultaneous view of the past, present and future. Dilemmas of fate and free will increase such as those who refuse to protect others by wearing a mask or by breaking lockdown restrictions.
The Chandra Symbol for Mars conjunct Chiron 10 Aries:
Roots of a Tree Twined round a Statue of a Naked Woman
“Bondage and freedom sometimes go hand in hand. The bondage is being true to pattern, predictable, caught in habits and tendencies perpetually left to grow like weeds. The freedom is that as you meet yourself starkly in the midst of these old, tired patterns of behaviour, you come into touch with a quickening flame of self-recreation, stimulated and forced by being at the mercy of the relentless patterns. This impulse to make yourself over is fervently strong, courageous, ready, and willing. The old stuff dies hard. You are therefore engaged in a pitched battle of a protracted kind between retrogressive and progressive ideals, impulses, and desires. Both sides are so impassioned and sharply intent that this becomes a knockdown battle of wills. The atavistic backward-leaning will feels immune to change. The visionary forward-thrusting will feels moved by evolutionary forces never to give up. Eventually the future prevails over the past, but not before scars and multiple traumas mark the spot of fighting for your life against an implacable inward enemy who knows it will lose and fights all the harder accordingly.” From Inside Degrees Elias Lonsdale
Aries Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
This is a week when many of us- including you- are likely to be thin skinned, over sensitive and over-reactive. Knowing this ahead of time, switch into think first/ act later and think first/speak later mode. Hoof in mouth syndrome could pour oil on the flames. Tread carefully around 13-16th July when your personal planet hot headed Mars conjuncts Chiron in Aries -you might be more accident prone than usual or be feeling emotionally vulnerable. Mercury turns forward from Sunday 12th and for you as an Aries, it’s been a tricky Mercury retrograde affecting life at home and especially family dynamics. By now, you probably just want to clear the air or wipe the slate clean but don’t assume everyone is feeling the same way-the eclipse dust hasn’t quite settled and you can’t push the elephant in the room back under the carpet.
Channel your energy into physical activity.
Taurus Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
If it’s been a challenging emotional time since the eclipses, some relief is in store for you as Mercury finally turns forward again on Sunday 12th in Cancer. Watch as, one by one, the communication glitches, the crossed wires and the misunderstandings smooth themselves out as long as you tread sensitively. Anything connected with writing, editing, developing a new website or blog should start to come together. Midweek, the Sun is in cahoots with change agents Pluto, Jupiter and Eris -it seems as if you have another chance to finalise a big project or to complete a qualification or programme of study. Just take care to tie up all the loose ends. With Mars meeting Master Healer Chiron in the deepest part of your chart, you need plenty of space and quiet time to withdraw. Regular doses of silence and solitude will soothe you. Make a note of your dreams, meditate, walk in nature and allow your natural body rhythms to restore you.
Make care, calm and comfort your watchwords.
Gemini Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
This could be one of those weeks when the world around you is in turmoil yet you feel curiously untouched -perhaps in the quiet of the eye of the storm. At your back and smoothing your path, Venus in your sign is turning your attention to all things harmonious and pleasing. You might be beautifying your home, your garden or yourself, creating an environment that reflects who you are now, not who you used to be. Although others may be edgy, challenging or even aggressive thanks to fiery Mars meeting with Chiron, now that your personal planet Mercury has turned forward again, you can choose to be diplomatic or to sidestep the dramas. After all, you have more important issues to deal with, probably financial. If you’ve been trying to make an important decision, clarity should return.
Remember the saying:” It’s not what happens but how you react to it that matters.”
Cancer Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
As a Cancerian caught between the recent July 5th lunar eclipse across your sign and the New Moon in Cancer on July 20th, your emotions may be all over the place. This week the Sun is at odds with Saturn and Pluto in your relationship zone while fiery Mars meets Chiron in your career sector. Whether you like it or not, you could be caught up in some sort of wrangling over status or role with an overbearing authority figure. The trick is not to try to override what you’re feeling by accepting less than you deserve but to let your cocktail of emotions deliver an important message-the truth of the situation and how it’s been affecting you. The same applies to a personal partnership. There’s no such thing as a solution to a feeling, but because we don’t recognise this, we spend chunks of time and energy trying solve our feelings by changing them to better ones or eliminating them.
Treat your emotions as important messengers from your higher Self.
Leo Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
This week’s astrology, coming as it does between a harsh lunar eclipse and an abrupt New Moon on July 20th, has some heavy aspects between planets. The Sun opposes Saturn and Pluto while fiery Mars conjuncts Chiron pointing to yet more reality checks and the need to take some difficult decisions. This applies both to the collective and also to you personally. It’s a season of hard choices to clear the path for more progressive times ahead. Fortunately, Mercury turns forward again on Sunday July 14th and you can start to disentangle any glitches at work. A little charm goes along way and Venus in your angle of allies and helpers should smooth your path. Keep in mind that the Sun is crossing through your deep 12th House in Cancer until July 22nd and this is always the time of year when your batteries are flat.
Take time to re-charge and restore yourself.
Virgo Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
There seem to be two big themes to focus on during the next 6 months, no matter what is happening or not happening around you. One is exploring your inner world, your interior life and discovering how much vaster it is than you ever imagined and the other is liberating yourself from old fears and negative beliefs about your art and your work. Mars now in your occult 8th House until January 2021 is about excavating all that’s been hidden and discovering the treasure in what you pushed into the shadows. Meanwhile Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn crossing and re-crossing your angle of creativity are radically dismantling all the old blocks to your freedom of expression, many of which were imprinted in early childhood. It erupts as an urge to break out and create just for its own sake and creates its own unstoppable momentum.
It’s taken years to reach this point of breakthrough- so step right out of your own way.
Libra Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
It’s quite a mixed bag for you this week, Libra, but at least you won’t be bored! Put everything I write in the frame of the last eclipse on July 5th which is only just getting started changing things around at work or in your business. The exact date may have gone but the domino effect is only just starting. Mercury is turning forwards again slowly on Sunday July 12th , so you may start to disentangle some of the crossed wires of recent times. However, fiery Mars is clashing with Chiron on Tuesday 14th and other people have the upper hand and may be feeling ready for an argument or a confrontation. Subtlety will be thrown out of the window in the heat of the moment. See it as a good time to acclimatise to the extra fire power Mars is giving you right through to January and practise the super power of creating rapport with everyone who crosses your path. That means being curious about where they’re coming from and trying to understand even if you don’t agree with them. That way you learn instead of reacting.
Developing the art of real listening.
Scorpio Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
The dust from July 5th’s eclipse still hasn’t settled and there’s a New Moon in fellow Water sign Cancer approaching on the 20th which has some sort of abrupt ending written all over. Adding to the intensity, your personal planet Mars meets Chiron on the 14th when old emotional wounds could be triggered. This looks like a tricky day for just about everyone. Mars will cross and re-cross this part of your chart until January 2021 so you may be firefighting on several fronts. On top of all the demands on your time, work looks very busy and is about to get busier. If you find yourself barely able to think straight, focus on priorities. Mercury turns forward again on July 12th, so some of the crossed wires and cross-purposes of the last few weeks will magically disentangle all on their own. The most important gift you can give yourself is to enhance your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing in as many enjoyable ways as you can.
Stepping away from drama.
Sagittarius Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
2020 is turning out to be all about money for you as a Sagittarian and this trend lasts right through to late December, so don’t stick your head in the sand and hope it will go away. That sort of denial or magic wishful thinking will be costly and counter-productive. You might be feeling Saturn’s financial pinch in relation to something you’ve set your heart on, such as a trip, a house move or adventure. You’ve done your sums and they just don’t add up. The key is to get real and be ultra- determined to find new ways of expanding your usual income stream. And the good news is that action planet Mars is firing up your momentum in your 5th House of creativity. You may earn money in one role but your skill ,qualities and life experience have given you so many more ways of adding value to others and then to yourself. Think in terms of a side business and don’t overlook what your partner or a partner could bring to the table.
You have more resources than you think.
Capricorn Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
You are in new territory between the July 5th eclipse in your own sign and an approaching New Moon in your opposite sign which is at odds with Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn. This suggests that your emotions are close to the surface and playing out in your personal, most intimate relationship as well as in your family life. Everyone will be feeling more sensitive, edgy or challenged this week, so tread gently, both with your own feelings and with others. You are now experiencing warrior Mars crossing the lowest point of your chart between now and January 2021 and the potential for disruption could take some getting used to. On or around July 14th, when Mars meets Chiron, expect some heated conversations at home centring on the differing priorities of family members. Old resentments and grievances could come out of the woodwork. The key to resolving it is by channelling the excess energy into activity. Wait until after the Cancer New Moon on July 20th to make a permanent decision about a partnership-you haven’t got the full picture yet.
Kindness wins over arguments every time.
Aquarius Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
There’s so much going on just beyond the edges of your awareness. Now that Saturn has re-joined Pluto and Jupiter in the hidden engine room of your chart, a great clearing and excavation of the landscape of your psyche is entering its final months. Whether you realise it or not, you are in the process of de-hypnotising yourself from old conditioning and rigid unquestioning adherence to beliefs and values imprinted way back in childhood. The promise of real liberation is only 6 months away when Saturn and Jupiter combine in Aquarius. Meanwhile, around July 13-15th, when Mars meets Chiron in your angle of connection, just notice which old wounds are being triggered so that you can heal them once and for all. This is the art of pattern breaking, so if anger or refusal to cooperate is your habitual response to being challenged, change it to curiosity instead.
“I did then what I knew how to do. Now I know better, I do better.” Maya Angelou
Pisces Weekly Forecast: July 12-19, 2020
Rather like Sagittarius, your finances are becoming a pre-occupation. With action planet Mars in your 2nd House of earned income until January 2021 and in pioneering Aries, you may need or want to come up with some innovative ways of attracting money. Fortunately, planet of commerce Mercury turns forward on Sunday July 12th, stimulating your creativity and helping you mind map or brainstorm exciting possibilities. The downside to this long Mars passage is the urge to spend, spend, spend as if it’s going out of fashion by making random impulse purchases that you can’t afford. So, first things first, hide your credit cards and do an audit of your talents, skills, qualifications, life experience and passions to find a way of packaging them to create added value for others and for yourself. Remember to price your services to match your value.
Say goodbye to under earning.
